About the role:
The Finance Specialist supports the daily financial operations of Central Virginia Housing by managing accounts payable/receivable, processing transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role ensures that all financial documentation is processed efficiently, recorded accurately, and maintained in an audit-ready format. The Finance Specialist works closely with the Finance Director to ensure smooth and compliant financial workflows.

Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Transaction Processing
- Process invoices and check requests in RealPage, ensuring accuracy and proper coding with line items and classes
- Review submitted invoices for completeness and required documentation prior to processing
- Maintain accurate records of all payments and supporting documentation
- Track invoice status and ensure timely payment to vendors
- Attach Forms W9 and COI to vendor files in RealPage
- Respond to all inquiries regarding past-due invoices and payments
- Review and report on any missing invoices from vendor monthly statements
Accounts Receivable & Deposits
- Process and track incoming payments, including tenant rent and other receivables
- Prepare and verify deposit reports
- Coordinate with property management staff regarding payment discrepancies
- Generate Accounts Receivable invoices on a monthly basis for CVH for maintenance fees, management fees, bookkeeping fees, and credit card reimbursements
Credit Card Transactions
- Enter all credit card charges into RealPage
- Attach PDF Copies of receipts to entry in RealPage
- Verify all receipts received per the credit card statements
- Retrieve documentation for any missing receipts
- Produce memos for all missing receipts in tandem with the purchaser including date, vendor, amount, and purpose
Financial Record Management
- Maintain organized and audit-ready filing systems in SharePoint and physical files
- Ensure all financial documents are properly stored, labeled, and accessible
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and Certificates of Insurance (COIs) via electronic filing system and attaching to vendor file in RealPage
- Develop and manage the electronic filing system for all accounting documents
Reporting & Finance Support
- Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation as requested
- Support audit preparation by ensuring complete and accurate financial records
- Provide general support to the Finance Director and finance-related initiatives
- Complete bank reconciliations for property accounts for the Finance Director to review and finalize
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
