Growth Marketing Manager Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a growth marketing manager in Illinois?
Growth marketing manager roles in Illinois require no state-issued license or registration, so the path runs through education and demonstrated results. Most Illinois employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, economics, or a data-related field. From there, candidates build experience in paid media, email, or product marketing before moving into growth-specific roles. A portfolio showing measurable outcomes on acquisition, retention, or revenue experiments carries significant weight in Chicago-market hiring.
How much do growth marketing managers make in Illinois?
Growth marketing managers in Illinois earn a median of about $162,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $95,990 for the lowest 10% to over $276,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire growth marketing managers in Illinois?
Employers hiring growth marketing managers in Illinois right now include ZS Associates, Grant Thornton, and Aon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Illinois's strong concentration of headquartered consumer brands, fintech companies, and B2B software firms means demand for this role stays relatively consistent throughout the year.
Which Illinois cities have the most growth marketing manager jobs?
Chicago, Illinois, and Niles lead Illinois in growth marketing manager openings. Chicago accounts for the large majority of postings, driven by its headquarters density across retail, finance, and technology sectors, while suburban areas like Schaumburg and Downers Grove add volume through the regional offices of national and global companies based in Chicagoland.
Are there remote growth marketing manager jobs in Illinois?
Yes, and more than most fields, since growth marketing work is largely data-driven and conducted through digital tools that travel well. About 92% of growth marketing manager openings tied to Illinois are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's desk-based and analytical nature. Paid acquisition management and reporting functions are the sub-areas most frequently offered as fully remote.
How can I get hired as a growth marketing manager in Illinois with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a marketing coordinator or digital marketing specialist role at a mid-size Chicago company, where exposure to paid channels and analytics builds quickly. Illinois employers like Morningstar and Groupon have historically brought in junior marketing talent through new-grad programs and rotational associate roles. Building a demonstrable side project or taking on freelance paid-media work strengthens a candidate's case considerably. Adjacent roles in marketing operations, business analytics, or e-commerce merchandising also serve as common lateral entry points.
