The Group Sales Manager drives commercial success by identifying, developing, and securing group accommodation, conference, and event business. This role manages the entire sales cycle—from prospecting and lead generation to contract negotiation and post-event follow-up—ensuring revenue targets and market share goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Prospecting: Proactively solicit and qualify new group, corporate, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) business through cold calling, networking, and outside sales calls.
- Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts, travel agencies, and event planners.
- Proposal & Contract Management: Respond to incoming leads, investigate availability, prepare customized proposals, and negotiate contract terms within established pricing parameters.
- Site Inspections: Conduct property tours and client entertainment to showcase hotel facilities to prospective clients.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with Revenue Management, Catering, and Operations teams to ensure profitable pricing and seamless execution of group bookings.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate client and pipeline records in CRM/sales automation tools such as Delphi and report on sales production and market trends.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or Marketing is preferred.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of professional experience in hotel sales, guest services, or hospitality business development. IHG experience highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software, property management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, highly organized, and results-oriented with a strong customer-focused mindset.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
