Marketing Associate Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing associate in New York?
Most marketing associate roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or business from an accredited four-year institution. New York does not require a state-issued license for marketing associates, so the path is primarily academic and experiential. New York City's density of agencies, media companies, and corporate marketing departments makes internships and entry-level coordinator roles the standard on-ramp, and a portfolio of campaign or project work gives candidates a meaningful edge.
How much do marketing associates make in New York?
Marketing associates in New York earn a median of about $98,580 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $56,070 for the lowest 10% to over $165,920 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing associates in New York?
Employers hiring marketing associates in New York right now include HealixGlobal, Fanduel, and The Ogilvy Group, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, global advertising agencies, and media conglomerates makes it one of the broadest and most consistent hiring markets for marketing roles in the country.
Which New York cities have the most marketing associate jobs?
New York, New York City, and Brooklyn have the most marketing associate openings in New York. New York City drives the majority of listings due to its unmatched density of advertising agencies, consumer brands, financial services firms, and media companies, while White Plains and Buffalo contribute demand from regional corporate offices and healthcare marketing departments anchored by large institutional employers.
Are there remote marketing associate jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 31% of marketing associate openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the work, including content creation, campaign management, and performance analysis, can be done entirely from a laptop. Digital marketing and content strategy roles tend to carry the most remote flexibility, while brand events and in-person client work typically require an on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a marketing associate in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a paid internship or coordinator role at a New York agency or mid-size brand, then converting it to a full-time associate position. Large New York employers such as Publicis Groupe, Omnicom, and major consumer goods companies run structured new-grad programs that accept candidates with internship experience or a strong portfolio. Adjacent roles like marketing coordinator, social media assistant, or sales support analyst are common lateral moves into associate-level marketing work, and a demonstrated portfolio of real or volunteer campaign projects significantly strengthens an application.
Where can I find and apply to marketing associate jobs in New York?
