Marketing Associate Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing associate in New York?
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or business is the standard starting point for marketing associate roles in New York. No state-issued license is required, but employers in the city's competitive market consistently favor candidates who have completed internships, built a portfolio of campaign work, or earned certifications in Google Analytics, Meta Blueprint, or HubSpot. New York's density of agencies and brand headquarters makes internship experience especially transferable into full-time roles.
Which companies hire marketing associates in New York?
Employers hiring marketing associates in New York right now include JPMorganChase, Regeneron, and DoorDash, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's mix of global consumer brands, media companies, financial institutions, and independent agencies means demand is spread across both corporate in-house teams and full-service marketing firms.
Which New York cities have the most marketing associate jobs?
The cities with the most marketing associate openings in New York are New York, Sleepy Hollow, and Buffalo. New York City accounts for the large majority of listings given its concentration of advertising agencies, media groups, and Fortune 500 brand headquarters, while Albany and Buffalo generate demand through regional corporate offices, healthcare systems, and public-sector organizations that maintain dedicated marketing functions.
Are there remote marketing associate jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 65% of marketing associate openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and digital nature of most campaign and content work. Roles focused on copywriting, social media management, email marketing, and performance analytics tend to be the most consistently offered on a remote or hybrid basis.
How can I get hired as a marketing associate in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a marketing coordinator or marketing assistant role, which many New York agencies and corporate teams use as structured pipelines into associate positions. Large employers such as Publicis, IPG, and major New York hospital systems run rotational or associate programs specifically for recent graduates. Building a portfolio through freelance projects, student campaigns, or volunteer brand work, combined with a Google Analytics or HubSpot certification, gives candidates a measurable edge in a competitive applicant pool.
