Sales Training Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales training manager in New York?
The most common path is several years in a direct sales role followed by a move into sales coaching or enablement. New York does not require a state-issued license for this role. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business or a related field, and certifications such as ATD's Certified Professional in Talent Development or Salesforce credentials strengthen candidates significantly in New York's competitive corporate market.
How much do sales training managers make in New York?
Sales training managers in New York earn a median of about $171,400 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $103,590 for the lowest 10% to over $280,850 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales training managers in New York?
Employers hiring sales training managers in New York right now include Ashley Northeast, LA Fitness, and LA Fitness / Esporta Fitness, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's density of financial services, pharmaceutical, and enterprise tech headquarters means many of the largest openings come from companies managing regional or national sales forces out of their New York offices.
Which New York cities have the most sales training manager jobs?
New York, Yonkers, and Rochester have the most sales training manager openings in New York. New York City drives the majority of demand given its concentration of financial services firms, global pharmaceutical companies, and enterprise technology sales operations, while White Plains and Melville reflect the significant corporate presence in Westchester and Long Island where regional commercial teams are headquartered.
Are there remote sales training manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than many management roles, since a meaningful portion of curriculum development and virtual facilitation can be done from anywhere. About 38% of sales training manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have adopted virtual onboarding and e-learning platforms. Live classroom facilitation and field coaching components are more likely to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a sales training manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a strong individual sales contributor role into a team lead or sales coach position within a New York employer. Large financial services firms and pharmaceutical companies in the city often post sales trainer or enablement specialist roles that accept candidates without formal training management experience. Building a portfolio of onboarding guides or coaching frameworks, and earning an ATD credential, gives candidates a measurable edge when applying to these openings.
Where can I find and apply to sales training manager jobs in New York?
