Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business, combined with progressive experience managing campaigns or teams. New York's density of agencies, Fortune 500 headquarters, and media companies means many candidates build their path through agency roles, brand-side coordinator positions, or graduate programs at institutions like NYU, Columbia, or Fordham before advancing to executive-level titles.
How much do marketing executives make in New York?
Marketing executives in New York earn a median of about $181,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,140 for the lowest 10% to over $324,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing executives in New York?
Employers hiring marketing executives in New York right now include JPMorganChase, The Estée Lauder Companies, and Taktile, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Which New York cities have the most marketing executive jobs?
New York, Latham, and Buffalo account for the most marketing executive openings in New York. New York City dominates due to its unmatched density of advertising agencies, consumer brands, and media companies, while White Plains attracts openings tied to major corporate campuses and regional headquarters that serve the broader tri-state market.
