Marketing Associate Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing associate in Texas?
Marketing associate roles in Texas do not require a state-issued license or certification. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or business. Texas hiring managers value hands-on experience gained through internships, agency work, or in-house brand teams. Building a portfolio of campaign work, earning platform certifications from Google or Meta, and gaining exposure to Texas-based industries like energy, tech, or retail significantly strengthens a candidacy.
How much do marketing associates make in Texas?
Marketing associates in Texas earn a median of about $72,520 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,640 for the lowest 10% to over $135,710 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing associates in Texas?
Employers hiring marketing associates in Texas right now include DoorDash, Sam Houston State University, and Bimbo Bakeries USA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, fast-growing technology firms, and large regional healthcare systems means consistent demand across a wide range of industries and company sizes.
Which Texas cities have the most marketing associate jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most marketing associate openings in Texas. Dallas leads because of its concentration of corporate headquarters and financial services firms, Houston draws heavily from energy, healthcare, and logistics companies, and Austin's fast-growing technology and startup ecosystem drives strong demand for junior and mid-level marketing talent.
Are there remote marketing associate jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Marketing associate work is well suited to remote arrangements because the core tasks, including content creation, campaign management, and data analysis, are desk-based and digital. About 19% of marketing associate openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly Texas employers have adopted flexible work models. Digital marketing and analytics sub-roles tend to see the highest share of fully remote postings.
How can I get hired as a marketing associate in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an internship or rotational program with a Texas-based employer. Large Texas companies like Dell, H-E-B, and American Airlines run structured marketing internships and new-grad associate programs that regularly convert to full-time roles. Candidates transitioning from adjacent roles such as sales coordinator, social media specialist, or marketing assistant also move into associate positions frequently. A portfolio demonstrating a real campaign, even a student or freelance project, combined with a Google Analytics or HubSpot certification, gives applicants a measurable edge.
