Marketing Communications Specialist Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing communications specialist in Georgia?
Most Georgia employers require a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or journalism as the baseline credential. Marketing communications is not a state-licensed profession in Georgia, so there is no board exam or registration required. Candidates who earn credentials such as the Public Relations Society of America's APR accreditation or a Google or HubSpot certification gain a concrete edge in competitive Atlanta-area hiring.
How much do marketing communications specialists make in Georgia?
Marketing communications specialists in Georgia earn a median of about $75,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,700 for the lowest 10% to over $148,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing communications specialists in Georgia?
Employers hiring marketing communications specialists in Georgia right now include NCR, Alogent, and Slingco, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major health systems, and financial services firms creates steady in-house demand beyond agency and contract roles.
Which Georgia cities have the most marketing communications specialist jobs?
Atlanta, Peachtree Corners, and Smyrna account for the most marketing communications specialist openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates because it hosts the greatest concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare networks, and financial institutions, while Savannah's growing logistics and hospitality sectors and Augusta's healthcare and defense employer base generate consistent demand outside the metro.
Are there remote marketing communications specialist jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. Marketing communications is a desk-based, digital-output role, which makes it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 60% of marketing communications specialist openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader industry norms. Content development, social media strategy, and copywriting functions tend to carry the most flexible location options.
How can I get hired as a marketing communications specialist in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an internship or coordinator role at one of Atlanta's many agency groups or large in-house communications departments, which regularly bring on candidates who lack full-time experience. Georgia-based health systems like Piedmont Healthcare and Grady Health System post communications associate roles accessible to new graduates. Building a portfolio of real writing samples, managing a nonprofit or campus organization's social channels, or completing a recognized digital marketing certification gives applicants from adjacent roles like administrative coordinator or social media assistant a credible bridge into the field.
Where can I find and apply to marketing communications specialist jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to marketing communications specialist jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
