Marketing Coordinator Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing coordinator in Tennessee?
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or a related discipline is the standard entry point for marketing coordinator roles in Tennessee, and no state-issued license is required for the position. Tennessee employers, particularly in Nashville's healthcare and music industry sectors, also value candidates who have completed internships or built a portfolio of campaign work, even through part-time or freelance projects, alongside their formal education.
Which companies hire marketing coordinators in Tennessee?
Tennessee marketing coordinator roles are posted by HDR, LRK, and TRC and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's blend of large corporate headquarters, regional healthcare networks, and hospitality brands creates a broad and steady pool of marketing coordinator openings across industries.
Which Tennessee cities have the most marketing coordinator jobs?
Nashville, Clarksville, and Memphis account for the largest share of marketing coordinator openings in Tennessee. Nashville leads because of its concentration of healthcare, entertainment, and hospitality headquarters, while Memphis draws demand from logistics and financial services employers, and Knoxville reflects steady activity from the University of Tennessee system and regional manufacturing and retail brands.

About 43% of marketing coordinator openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have embraced flexible arrangements for this role. Content coordination, email marketing, and social media management are the sub-functions most frequently offered on a fully remote basis.
How can I get hired as a marketing coordinator in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a marketing assistant or communications coordinator role at a large Tennessee employer and moving into a coordinator title within one to two years. Nashville-area healthcare systems like Vanderbilt University Medical Center and regional retail and hospitality brands regularly hire entry-level marketing support staff. Building a portfolio through campus organizations, freelance social media work, or a Tennessee university's cooperative education program can substitute for paid experience, and a Google Ads or HubSpot certification adds a concrete credential that Tennessee hiring managers recognize.
