Project Assistant Jobs in Kentucky: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project assistant in Kentucky?
Most Kentucky employers expect at least an associate degree in business, construction management, or a related field, though a bachelor's degree strengthens your candidacy for roles tied to healthcare or government contracting. Kentucky does not require a state-issued license for project assistants in most industries, but earning a Certified Associate in Project Management credential is widely recognized by employers statewide and demonstrates readiness for the role.
Which companies hire project assistants in Kentucky?
Kentucky project assistant roles are posted by ABM Industries, Stantec, and VOGT Power and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kentucky's blend of large healthcare systems, logistics companies, and public-sector agencies means openings appear across a wide range of industries rather than clustering in one sector.
Which Kentucky cities have the most project assistant jobs?
Lexington, Louisville, and Highland Heights have the most project assistant openings in Kentucky. Louisville drives the largest share of listings through its concentration of Fortune 500 healthcare and logistics employers, Lexington adds volume from the University of Kentucky and manufacturing operations, and Frankfort generates consistent openings tied to state government and infrastructure programs.
Are there remote project assistant jobs in Kentucky?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields because project assistant work centers on documentation, scheduling, and communication that travels well to a home office. About 29% of project assistant openings tied to Kentucky are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves software coordination rather than on-site presence. Administrative support and reporting tasks are the functions most often performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a project assistant in Kentucky with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for administrative coordinator or program support roles at large Kentucky institutions, which regularly hire candidates without direct project management experience. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville both run staff development pipelines that move office coordinators into project support roles. State agencies in Frankfort post entry-level project technician positions that serve as a natural first step, and completing a CAPM certification before applying noticeably improves your candidacy.
Where can I find and apply to project assistant jobs in Kentucky?
You can find and apply to project assistant jobs in Kentucky on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kentucky openings from employers across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly to the ones that match.
