Job Description
Senior IT Project Leader (Hybrid - Columbia, SC)
The Senior IT Project Leader drives the successful delivery of large-scale, strategic technology projects and programs by overseeing planning, execution, and governance. This role ensures alignment with organizational objectives, fosters stakeholder engagement, and mitigates risks to achieve measurable business outcomes.
Strategic Project Delivery:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex projects and programs, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
- Facilitate requirements gathering and scope definition to translate business needs into actionable plans.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitoring progress and adjusting as needed.
- Ensure all project documentation complies with organizational standards and lifecycle frameworks.
- Apply appropriate methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) to manage execution effectively.
Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership:
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure expectations and priorities are clearly understood.
- Drive alignment across teams on deliverables and timelines, promoting accountability and collaboration.
- Communicate project status, risks, and impacts proactively, escalating issues per governance protocols.
- Lead cross-functional teams, providing direction and resolving conflicts to maintain project momentum.
Risk, Issue, & Governance Management:
- Identify, document, and monitor risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely resolution and escalation.
- Maintain compliance with organizational governance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Employ best practices in project management for planning, monitoring, and reporting to ensure successful outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, finance, or related field.
- 7-9 years of relevant project management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of project management principles and methodologies to include Waterfall and Agile.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in standard productivity and project management tools (generalized, tool-agnostic).
