Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Specialist – Truck Transportation will drive continuous improvement in logistics operations with a focus on truck pricing for our package and refinery shipments.
Core Functions:
- Coordinate and maintain freight rate quotes to support current business and future business opportunities
- Work cross functionally to optimize route guides to lead strategic cost reduction plans across the logistics supply chain
- Identify and correct issues with freight accrual and expense variances
- Maintain Truck P&L demonstrating opportunities for improvement in pricing
- Analyze Freight Variance Report and correct issues with Customer Service, Sales, Pricing, and Contract Team to maintain profitable freight revenue
- Maintain a solid understanding of federal rules and regulations that apply to shippers and motor carriers to ensure we are compliant
- Analyze and distribute reports from SAP, Tableau, and E2Open TMS
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Transportation Management, Operations, Agriculture Economics, or related business field required.
- One plus years of demonstrated ability in related field
- Ability to work under time constraints, multitask and self-starter
- Prior TMS experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
- Possess strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the aim to build data-driven business solutions and improve processes in the transportation and logistics areas.
