Team Manager / FedEx BC (Business Contact) — Multi-Terminal Linehaul Operations
Ness Logistics Corp. | Location Open (proximity to Little Rock, AR / Memphis, TN / Olive Branch, MS / Houston, TX preferred) | Full-Time, Salaried
Compensation: $90,000–$100,000/year, DOE
About Us
Ness Logistics Corp. is an established FedEx linehaul contractor operating out of multiple terminals — with primary locations in Little Rock, AR, Memphis, TN, Olive Branch, MS, and Houston, TX — running team trucks on a mix of dedicated and wild routes. We're planning substantial growth across this area, and we're looking for an experienced FedEx BC (Business Contact) to help us manage our people and equipment across several locations as we scale.
The Role
We need a hands-on leader who can oversee 4+ terminals, manage our team drivers, and keep our trucks on the road and moving. Your job is to make sure every truck is staffed with a full team, every truck is running, and every load gets covered — and to be the point of contact when FedEx personnel need something from our side. You'll be the connective tissue between our leadership team and the people on the ground — someone who can walk onto any of our sites, quickly assess what's working and what isn't, and fix it.
What You'll Do
● Oversee team drivers and equipment across multiple terminals, making sure trucks are staffed with complete driver teams, running, and covering their loads across dedicated and wild routes
● Manage, coach, and hold accountable CDL team drivers
● Coordinate directly with FedEx personnel as the primary point of contact for anything on the contractor side — driver availability, truck issues, coverage gaps
● Monitor DOT compliance, HOS, and safety metrics using Motive (ELD/VEDR); drive corrective action where needed
● Champion safety as a top priority — reinforcing safe driving habits, following up on any safety events, and holding the team accountable to DOT and company safety standards
● Handle driver staffing, scheduling, and coverage across terminals, including pairing/re-pairing teams and covering callouts
● Coordinate truck maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and keep equipment road-ready, including moving trucks to/from shops as needed
● Analyze performance data (on-time percentage, driver utilization, safety events, truck downtime) and report to ownership/leadership
● Travel regularly between terminals to support teams in person
● Help build out processes and structure as we grow into new terminals and lanes
What You Bring
● Prior experience as a FedEx BC (Business Contact) with a FedEx linehaul TSP/contractor — required
● Experience managing team truck operations strongly preferred
● Proven experience managing drivers and equipment across multiple sites simultaneously
● Strong working knowledge of FedEx linehaul operations, scorecards, and compliance standards
● Familiarity with ELD/VEDR platforms (Motive preferred) and DOT/FMCSA compliance
● CDL strongly preferred — you may need to personally move trucks for maintenance, repairs, or coverage, and conduct road tests with drivers
● Excellent people-management skills — you can lead, coach, and hold people accountable without losing their respect
● Comfort with data: reading reports, spotting trends, and acting on them
● Reliable transportation for regular travel between terminals
● Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
● Comfortable being reachable outside standard business hours — trucks run around the clock, and occasional late-night or early-morning calls from drivers or FedEx come with the territory
What We Offer
● Competitive salary: $90,000–$100,000/year, DOE
● A leadership role with real influence over how our operations run, right as we head into a major growth phase
● Room to grow as the company expands into new terminals and lanes

Team Manager Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a team manager in Mississippi?
Most team manager roles in Mississippi require a combination of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field, though some employers promote from within based on performance alone. Mississippi does not issue a state-specific license for general team managers, so the path typically starts with frontline roles in retail, logistics, or healthcare, followed by demonstrated leadership results and, in some cases, completion of an internal management training program at a major Mississippi employer.
Which companies hire team managers in Mississippi?
Employers hiring team managers in Mississippi right now include State Farm, Target, and Ajinomoto, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's retail, healthcare, and distribution sectors drive the bulk of consistent openings, particularly along the I-55 corridor and the Gulf Coast region.
Which Mississippi cities have the most team manager jobs?
Madison, Gulfport, and Greenwood have the most team manager openings in Mississippi. Jackson leads because of its concentration of healthcare systems, state government contractors, and regional retail headquarters, while Gulfport's hospitality and port-related logistics industry and Southaven's position as a major DeSoto County distribution hub pull strong demand in those markets as well.
Are there remote team manager jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, but they're rare. Team manager work is largely hands-on and site-dependent, so most roles require a physical presence. About 100% of team manager openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to be concentrated in call center operations management and software or technology team leads rather than in retail, healthcare, or warehouse environments.
How can I get hired as a team manager in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an assistant manager or team lead role within a large Mississippi employer and building a record of measurable results before stepping into a full team manager title. Walmart and FedEx both run internal leadership development programs at their Mississippi locations that advance high-performing associates without requiring prior management experience. Healthcare organizations like Baptist Health Systems and Merit Health often post shift lead or charge roles that serve as a direct bridge to team manager positions, and completing a supervisory skills certificate from a Mississippi community college can strengthen a candidate's profile significantly.
Where can I find and apply to team manager jobs in Mississippi?
You can find and apply to team manager jobs in Mississippi on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
