Technical Sales Manager Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a technical sales manager in Mississippi?
Most Mississippi employers require a bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, or business combined with several years of field sales experience in a relevant sector. There is no state-issued license specific to technical sales management in Mississippi. Candidates typically advance from technical sales representative roles, building product knowledge in manufacturing, energy, or agriculture before moving into management. Industry certifications from bodies like the Manufacturers' Representatives Educational Research Foundation can strengthen a candidacy significantly.
How much do technical sales managers make in Mississippi?
Technical sales managers in Mississippi earn a median of about $108,750 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,350 for the lowest 10% to over $217,460 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire technical sales managers in Mississippi?
Mississippi technical sales manager roles are posted by Milwaukee Tool, Wayne-Sanderson Farms, and HII and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's concentration of shipbuilding, petrochemical, and agricultural equipment operations means many of these employers maintain dedicated regional technical sales teams with recurring openings.
Which Mississippi cities have the most technical sales manager jobs?
Jackson, Flowood, and Biloxi have the most technical sales manager openings in Mississippi. Jackson leads because it is the state's commercial and distribution hub, while Gulfport and the Gulf Coast corridor are driven by the shipbuilding, oil and gas, and port logistics industries that cluster there and require persistent technical sales coverage from major equipment and services firms.
Are there remote technical sales manager jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, but they're limited. Technical sales manager work is inherently field-oriented, requiring in-person client visits, product demonstrations, and on-site assessments across a territory. About 25% of technical sales manager openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the hands-on nature of the role. The parts of the work most compatible with remote arrangements are proposal writing, CRM management, and internal reporting rather than client-facing sales activity.
How can I get hired as a technical sales manager in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a technical sales representative role at one of Mississippi's large industrial distributors or manufacturers, where you build product knowledge and a client base before stepping into management. Companies serving Mississippi's Gulf Coast shipbuilding and energy sectors, such as industrial supply distributors in the Gulfport and Pascagoula area, frequently hire associates or inside sales representatives as entry points. A degree in engineering or industrial technology gives a strong edge, and completing a manufacturer-sponsored product training program can accelerate the transition into a management track.
Where can I find and apply to technical sales manager jobs in Mississippi?
You can find and apply to technical sales manager jobs in Mississippi on Migrate Mate, which lists current Mississippi openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target area, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
