Which accounting companies sponsor H-1B visas in Arkansas?
Arkansas's largest H-1B visa sponsors in accounting include Walmart Inc. and its subsidiaries, based in Bentonville, along with Dillard's and Stephens Inc. in Little Rock. Regional public accounting firms operating across Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley also file H-1B petitions for qualified accountants. Healthcare systems such as Arkansas Children's Hospital and Baptist Health appear in DOL Labor Condition Application records for accounting and finance roles.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most accounting H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Bentonville and Rogers in Northwest Arkansas generate the highest volume of accounting H-1B sponsorship activity, driven primarily by Walmart's global headquarters and its dense supplier ecosystem. Little Rock, as the state capital and financial center, follows closely with opportunities in banking, insurance, and state government contracting. Fayetteville also sees demand from the University of Arkansas system and the regional professional services sector.
How do I find accounting H-1B sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate filters accounting job listings specifically by H-1B sponsorship history in Arkansas, showing which employers have filed Labor Condition Applications for accounting roles. You can search by city, role type such as staff accountant or tax analyst, and employer to identify companies with verified sponsorship activity in the state. This saves time compared to manually reviewing DOL OFLC disclosure data.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Arkansas?
Roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field typically qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules. In Arkansas, common sponsored titles include staff accountant, senior accountant, financial analyst, internal auditor, and tax associate. Positions at Walmart's corporate headquarters often include management accountant and financial reporting analyst roles. USCIS evaluates each petition based on the specific degree requirement tied to the job duties.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-1B accounting jobs in Arkansas?
Arkansas does not impose state-level licensing requirements that block H-1B employment for unlicensed accountants, though CPA licensure from the Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy is required for signing audit opinions. Many sponsored roles in industry, such as those at Walmart or within the healthcare sector, do not require CPA licensure. Employers must still meet DOL prevailing wage obligations for the specific accounting occupation and Arkansas county where the work is performed, verifiable through the OFLC Wage Search.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B accounting jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
