Which healthcare companies sponsor visas in Georgia?
Major Georgia healthcare employers sponsoring visas include Emory Healthcare (Atlanta's largest health system), Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Piedmont Healthcare, Northside Hospital, and WellStar Health System. The Medical College of Georgia and Emory University School of Medicine also sponsor for research and clinical positions. These organizations regularly file H-1B petitions for physicians, nurses, and healthcare researchers.
How to find healthcare visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for healthcare positions with visa sponsorship in Georgia. The platform filters jobs by sponsorship willingness and location, showing current openings at major health systems like Emory, Piedmont, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Focus on metro Atlanta where most sponsoring employers are concentrated, though opportunities exist statewide.
Which visa types are most common for healthcare roles in Georgia?
H-1B visas dominate for specialty healthcare positions in Georgia, particularly for physicians, nurse practitioners, and healthcare IT roles. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican nurses and physical therapists. J-1 visas are common for medical residents and fellows at Emory University Hospital and Medical College of Georgia teaching programs. O-1 visas occasionally apply for distinguished medical researchers.
Which cities in Georgia have the most healthcare sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta dominates Georgia's healthcare visa sponsorship market, home to Emory Healthcare, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and multiple Piedmont locations. Augusta follows with the Medical College of Georgia and AU Health System. Columbus, Macon, and Savannah offer additional opportunities through regional health systems, but metro Atlanta concentrates roughly 70% of sponsoring healthcare employers statewide.
What prevailing wage considerations affect Georgia healthcare sponsorship?
Georgia healthcare prevailing wages vary significantly by region and specialty. Atlanta commands higher wages due to competition and cost of living, particularly for specialists at Emory and Children's Healthcare. Rural areas often struggle to meet prevailing wage requirements for certain specialties, making sponsorship less viable outside metro areas. Nursing wages have increased substantially post-pandemic, improving H-1B petition viability.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored healthcare jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
