Patient Access Registrar - Full Time & PRN available - EVENING & NIGHT Shifts
- Excellent attendance required. Must be touch-typist 40 WPM or above. Interviews will only be scheduled for candidates who meet these requirements.
This job is typically the first point of contact and must ensure a pleasant experience for patients and visitors.
The Patient Access Specialist interviews patients and/or their representatives to obtain complete and accurate demographic, financial and insurance information required for billing and collecting patient accounts. Obtains all necessary customer consents. Coordinates the collection of all estimated patient liabilities, including co-payments and unmet deductibles. Verifies insurance benefits and coverage for inpatients and outpatients. Responds to customer requests and answers questions regarding various service and account information. Analyzes and rectifies customer concerns. Uses computer to access and/or update customer records.
Required Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Requires Work stability and dependability. Excellent attendance required.
Required Skills: Proficient Touch Typist (40 WPM OR ABOVE) and Data Entry Competency.
Demonstrated professionalism: Professional appearance and behavior, effective communication skills and active listening skills. Superior customer service.
Physical Effort: Light to medium physical work level of up to 20 pounds. Ability to move patients using wheelchair.
Must have ability to work independently. Must have ability to work in stressful situation.
Hard requirement to work every other weekend. Must be available for holidays and some shift rotation. This position is a day/evening split.
