Which medical devices companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Massachusetts?
Boston Scientific, Medtronic, and Hologic are among the larger employers in Massachusetts with documented F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship activity. Mid-size and emerging device companies in the Greater Boston and Marlborough areas also participate, particularly those with R&D or software-heavy teams. Sponsorship eligibility depends on whether the role falls under a qualifying STEM Classification of Instructional Programs code tied to your degree.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most medical devices F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Greater Boston, including Cambridge and the Seaport District, concentrates the highest number of medical devices roles with F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship. Marlborough and Natick along the Route 128 technology corridor are also significant clusters, hosting operations for several large device manufacturers. Worcester and Waltham round out the map for device engineering and regulatory positions outside the core Boston metro.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship?
Roles in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, quality assurance, regulatory affairs with a technical degree, and data science within device companies commonly qualify. The position must be directly related to your STEM degree field, and your employer must be enrolled in E-Verify. Roles classified under engineering or computer science STEM degree classifications align most reliably with STEM OPT eligibility requirements set by USCIS and ICE.
How do I find medical devices F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate filters medical devices job listings in Massachusetts specifically for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship, using DOL Labor Condition Application filing data to surface employers with verified sponsorship history. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to companies that may not sponsor. You can narrow results by city, role type, and degree field to find positions where your STEM OPT eligibility aligns with what the employer has actively filed for.
Are there any Massachusetts-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in medical devices?
Massachusetts employers in medical devices are subject to FDA device regulations that often require specialized technical degrees, which can strengthen the STEM OPT degree-to-role alignment requirement. The state's dense research hospital network, including Mass General Brigham-affiliated entities, also creates device roles at the clinical-engineering intersection. Employers operating under federal contracts may have additional E-Verify obligations, which is a prerequisite for STEM OPT sponsorship regardless of company size.
