Which education employers in Missouri sponsor E-3 visas?
Universities are the most consistent E-3 sponsors in Missouri's education sector. Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Missouri system, and Saint Louis University have documented histories of sponsoring international workers in academic and professional roles. Large K-12 districts in St. Louis and Kansas City, along with education technology firms operating in Missouri, also sponsor E-3 visas for qualifying specialty occupation positions.
Which cities in Missouri have the most education E-3 sponsorship jobs?
St. Louis is Missouri's primary hub for education E-3 opportunities, driven by its concentration of research universities, private colleges, and education-focused nonprofits. Kansas City is the second-largest market, with growing demand in K-12 administration and corporate training roles. Columbia, home to the flagship University of Missouri campus, also generates E-3-eligible openings in research, teaching, and instructional design.
What types of education roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Missouri?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In Missouri's education sector, this typically includes university faculty, curriculum developers, instructional designers, education researchers, academic advisors with specialist credentials, and education technology roles requiring degrees in fields like computer science, education psychology, or data analytics. General classroom aide or paraprofessional roles rarely qualify.
How do I find education E-3 sponsorship jobs in Missouri?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find education E-3 sponsorship jobs in Missouri, as the platform filters specifically for E-3-eligible roles by state and industry. Beyond Migrate Mate, reviewing career pages at Missouri's major universities and filtering by roles that list degree requirements in a specific field helps identify qualifying positions. Searching within larger school districts' HR portals in St. Louis and Kansas City can also surface E-3-eligible openings.
Are there any Missouri-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in education?
Missouri does not impose state-level visa or work authorization requirements beyond federal standards, so E-3 eligibility follows standard USCIS specialty occupation rules. One practical consideration is that Missouri's largest education employers are concentrated in two metro areas, making geographic flexibility between St. Louis and Kansas City meaningfully wider the pool of E-3-eligible roles. Public school districts may also require state teaching certification separately from federal visa requirements, which is worth confirming with the specific employer.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 education jobs in Missouri?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
