About us
Solar Landscape is the leading commercial rooftop solar developer in the U.S. Only 4% of commercial rooftops host solar today — we’re changing that, fast. Commercial rooftop solar is the fastest, smartest way to build new clean power — delivering megawatts of generation in months, not years, and powering America’s energy and future right where it’s needed most. By turning rooftops into local power plants, we’re reshaping how — and how fast — energy gets built in the U.S.
Recognized as the #1 Distributed Generation Developer by New Project Media, the #1 National Commercial Rooftop Solar Developer by Solar Power World, and winner of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grand Prize for Clean Energy, Solar Landscape is defining the future of energy generation in America.
Headquartered in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Solar Landscape has offices in Chicago, Baltimore, and New York City and operates in over a dozen states nationwide.
We move fast, solve hard problems, and take our work seriously — but never ourselves. We value clear thinking, accountability, and execution. At the same time, we’re collaborative by default, and believe the best work happens when people enjoy working together. Our team is made up of smart, grounded people who show up for each other — whether that’s troubleshooting a system design or catching up over lunch.
If you’re looking to do meaningful work in a high-performance environment — and be part of the team reshaping how energy gets built in the U.S. — we’d love to meet you.
About The Role

This role is based in the Northeast. Time in office is not required but strongly preferred.

Which renewable energy companies sponsor H-1B visas in New York?
Several major employers in New York have filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for renewable energy roles. These include Consolidated Edison, Ørsted, Eversource Energy, National Grid, and Avangrid, which operates significant wind and solar assets across the state. Project developers, engineering consultancies, and grid operators tied to New York's offshore wind and solar programs also appear regularly in DOL H-1B filing records.
Which cities in New York have the most renewable energy H-1B sponsorship jobs?
New York City is the primary hub, hosting corporate headquarters and project finance teams for major energy developers. Albany sees activity from state agencies and policy-adjacent firms tied to the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. Long Island, particularly around Hauppauge and Melville, supports offshore wind operations. Buffalo and Rochester attract engineering and manufacturing roles connected to the state's expanding clean energy supply chain.
What types of renewable energy roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that typically qualify are those requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related specialty field. In renewable energy, this commonly includes wind and solar energy engineers, electrical engineers specializing in grid interconnection, environmental analysts, energy systems modelers, project finance analysts, and GIS specialists supporting site assessment. USCIS evaluates whether the specific job duties require specialized theoretical or technical expertise rather than general business skills.
How do I find renewable energy H-1B sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate lets you search for renewable energy roles in New York that are filtered by verified H-1B sponsorship history, drawing on DOL Labor Condition Application data. This helps you identify which employers have actually sponsored H-1B workers in energy-related occupations rather than relying on job postings that may not reflect a company's true sponsorship track record. Filtering by state and sector on Migrate Mate narrows results to New York-based renewable energy opportunities.
Are there New York-specific factors that affect H-1B sponsorship in renewable energy?
New York's Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act has accelerated renewable energy investment, increasing demand for specialized technical talent that is not always available domestically. This drives H-1B sponsorship activity among project developers and utilities. However, sponsorship decisions remain employer-specific and depend on individual role requirements, company size, and internal HR capacity. New York City employers subject to local labor regulations may also have additional compliance considerations when filing Labor Condition Applications.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B renewable energy jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
