Which automotive companies in North Dakota have sponsored H-1B visas?
Automotive H-1B visa sponsorship in North Dakota has come from dealership groups, fleet management companies, and vehicle component suppliers operating in the state. Larger multi-location dealership networks and companies supporting agricultural and commercial vehicle fleets are among the employer types that have filed Labor Condition Applications with the DOL. Checking OFLC disclosure data by state and occupation code gives the most accurate picture of which specific employers have filed.
Which cities in North Dakota have the most automotive H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Fargo is the primary concentration point for automotive H-1B activity in North Dakota, driven by its size as the state's largest metro and its base of dealership groups and fleet service businesses. Bismarck and Grand Forks also see sponsorship activity tied to commercial vehicle operations and regional automotive suppliers. Smaller cities with significant agricultural equipment dealers can also generate H-1B filings for specialized technical roles.
What types of automotive roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in North Dakota?
H-1B sponsorship in the automotive sector generally applies to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In North Dakota, qualifying positions have included automotive engineers, quality control specialists, mechanical engineers working on fleet or commercial vehicle systems, and technical sales roles tied to vehicle technology. General service technician positions that don't require a relevant bachelor's degree typically don't meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidelines.
How do I find automotive H-1B sponsorship jobs in North Dakota?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to identify automotive employers in North Dakota who have active H-1B sponsorship history. Because Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application filing data, you can see which employers have previously sponsored H-1B workers in automotive roles rather than relying on unverified job post claims. Filtering by state and occupation category helps narrow results to North Dakota specifically.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in North Dakota's automotive industry?
North Dakota's automotive market is heavily influenced by agriculture and commercial transportation, meaning many H-1B-eligible automotive roles involve heavy equipment, fleet management systems, or commercial vehicle technology rather than passenger car manufacturing. The state's relatively small labor market means fewer total H-1B filings compared to larger states, but competition for qualified international candidates in engineering and technical roles can be lower. Employers must still comply with all standard USCIS and DOL requirements regardless of state location.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B automotive jobs in North Dakota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
