Which medical devices companies sponsor H-1B visas in North Dakota?
North Dakota's medical devices H-1B visa sponsorship activity is led by larger healthcare-adjacent employers in Fargo and Bismarck, including device distributors, hospital systems that manage in-house biomedical engineering teams, and regional manufacturing operations. Sanford Health and Essentia Health affiliates have filed Labor Condition Applications for device-related roles. Smaller contract manufacturers serving orthopedic and diagnostic segments also appear in OFLC disclosure data, though sponsorship volume is more limited than in larger Midwest medical-device hubs.
Which cities in North Dakota have the most medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Fargo accounts for the largest share of medical devices H-1B filings in North Dakota, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, technology employers, and proximity to the North Dakota State University research ecosystem. Bismarck follows as the state capital and home to regional hospital networks that employ biomedical and clinical engineering staff. Grand Forks, anchored by UND's medical and engineering programs, also generates periodic sponsorship activity for device-adjacent technical roles.
How do I find medical devices H-1B sponsorship jobs in North Dakota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and industry, so you can search medical devices roles in North Dakota where employers have verified H-1B Labor Condition Application filing history. This removes the guesswork of identifying which companies have sponsored before. You can narrow results by city, job function, and experience level to surface roles in Fargo, Bismarck, or Grand Forks that align with your background in engineering, quality, or regulatory affairs.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for H-1B sponsorship in medical devices are specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In North Dakota, these commonly include biomedical engineers, quality engineers, regulatory affairs specialists, mechanical engineers working on device design, and clinical applications specialists. Manufacturing process engineers and R&D scientists with degrees in biomedical, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering also regularly appear in OFLC Labor Condition Application filings for this sector. USCIS evaluates each position individually.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in North Dakota's medical devices industry?
North Dakota's medical devices market is smaller than coastal hubs, which means fewer employers file H-1B LCAs annually and competition for sponsoring employers is concentrated among a limited number of healthcare systems and manufacturers. Prevailing wage requirements still apply and are determined by the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool using the applicable Standard Occupational Classification code and the Fargo or Bismarck wage area. Employers in North Dakota must also comply with federal E-Verify requirements for H-1B workers, regardless of state size.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B medical devices jobs in North Dakota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
