INTRODUCTION
We are seeking a Logistics Specialist, North and Central America (NCA) to join our Consumables Logistics NCA team. You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing logistics activities for mining consumables such as screening media, wear liners, pumps, and mill lining components. This role supports production, warehousing, and transportation teams by managing shipments, and serving as a key point of contact for internal teams, customers, and logistics partners. In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, CNS Logistics NCA. This position is located across any Metso office within the USA. We are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.
TEAM YOU BELONG TO
You will join a team of supply chain and logistics experts dedicated to optimizing warehousing and distribution processes, who are passionate about driving reliable delivery performance and continuous improvement across logistics operations. We are currently working on visibility and tracking processes, continuous improvement initiatives, performance dashboards, and multi-site distribution operations. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Manufacturing Plants, Customer Service, Procurement, Planners, HS&E, and logistics carriers and vendors. Our team culture is all about collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. The members in our team will be in Mexico, U.S., and Canada Metso locations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Coordinate the release and shipment of goods once production, fabrication, or picking is complete, ensuring timely dispatch.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of consumables, including heavy, oversized, or irregularly shaped components.
- Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including materials requiring special handling or regulatory compliance.
- Track deliveries to a wide range of destinations—including warehouses, customer facilities, mine sites, and remote locations—and monitor shipments handled by both company-arranged carriers and customer-arranged logistics partners.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, production planning, procurement, warehouse, vendor, and logistics service provider personnel to support customer demand and delivery timelines.
- Update ERP systems with shipment details, movements, and traceability information.
- Assist in resolving logistics issues such as delays, carrier challenges, or urgent customer needs.
WHO YOU ARE
- Relevant education or experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations, ideally within mining, heavy industry, or industrial consumables.
- Strong ability to coordinate shipments involving large, heavy, or specialized components.
- Ability to support operations serving both standard and remote delivery environments.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, logistics KPIs, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
