Account Executive Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an account executive in Washington?
Most account executive roles in Washington require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though no state-issued license is required for the role itself. Employers in Washington's technology corridor typically look for candidates who have completed an inside sales or business development representative role first. Building familiarity with cloud or SaaS product categories and earning a recognized sales methodology certification, such as MEDDIC or Challenger, strengthens a Washington application considerably.
Which companies hire account executives in Washington?
Employers hiring account executives in Washington right now include Amazon Web Services, DocuSign, and T-Mobile, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Washington's concentration of major technology headquarters and regional enterprise offices means demand stays consistent year-round, particularly for candidates with experience selling software or cloud services.
Which Washington cities have the most account executive jobs?
Seattle, Renton, and Spokane have the most account executive openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue drive the largest share because of the dense cluster of technology company headquarters and enterprise offices there, while Redmond's Microsoft campus and the growing biotech presence in Bothell and Kirkland account for strong hiring in those suburban markets as well.
Are there remote account executive jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most fields, because account executive work is fundamentally relationship- and communication-driven and translates well to distributed teams. About 94% of account executive openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the tech sector's broader flexibility. The roles most likely to be fully remote are those focused on mid-market or SMB accounts, where travel requirements are lower than in enterprise or strategic accounts.
How can I get hired as an account executive in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a business development representative or inside sales role at one of Washington's technology companies, which serve as structured pipelines into account executive positions. Large Seattle-area employers like Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Salesforce run formal sales development programs designed for candidates without prior quota-carrying experience. A relevant internship, a completed associate degree in business, or a recognized sales certification gives candidates a concrete edge when applying to these entry programs in Washington.
Where can I find and apply to account executive jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to account executive jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, preferred industry, and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
