Accounting Manager Jobs in South Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounting manager in South Carolina?
Most accounting manager roles in South Carolina require a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance plus several years of staff or senior accountant experience. Earning a CPA license through the South Carolina Board of Accountancy significantly strengthens your candidacy, as many employers list it as preferred or required. The board requires passing all four sections of the CPA exam and meeting South Carolina's education and experience hours before licensure.

Which South Carolina cities have the most accounting manager jobs?

Columbia drives volume as the state capital and home to major healthcare networks and state agencies, while Greenville and Spartanburg are fueled by the region's dense manufacturing and logistics employers, and the Fort Mill and Rock Hill corridor benefits from spillover from Charlotte-area corporate headquarters.
Are there remote accounting manager jobs in South Carolina?
Yes, and more than many management roles, since accounting manager work is largely analytical and documentation-based. About 64% of accounting manager openings tied to South Carolina are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting genuine flexibility in the field. Financial reporting, budgeting oversight, and ERP-based close processes are the functions most commonly performed off-site.
How can I get hired as a accounting manager in South Carolina with little or no experience?
