INTRODUCTION
In the Senior Supply Chain Business Manager role, you will be responsible to systemically improve supplier business processes to achieve optimal operational performance. You will develop action plan for supplier operational improvements and monitor their progress by holding supplier accountable. You will define metrics and monitor supplier performance against the KPIs to ensure continuous supplier improvement. You regularly evaluate quality and sets performance benchmarks, and assess the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection. This is a high visibility role with need for regular executive communication.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with supplier planning, quality and manufacturing leads to audit business processes that support flow of material and information. Develop improvement opportunities for the supplier processes with clear action plan.
- Responsible for program managing the progress of multiple improvement projects at supplier.
- Clearly communicate supplier health and actions taken to mitigate any potential delivery risks in multiple forums with executive team.
- Work continuously on process improvement to deploy & develop best known methods related to procurement, inventory control (e.g., Consignment, JIT, Kanban, min/max) & manufacturing strategies.
- Initiate and coordinate early supplier involvement in highly technical and/or contractually complex new products parts design using the suppliers’ expertise to optimize quality and manufacturability.
- Establish goals with supplier to ensure material delivery meet forecasted demand.
- Be the point of contact for escalations to resolve shortages.
- Represent supplier business management on cross-functional commodity teams that focus on supply challenges, and to ensure internal/external customer needs are satisfied.
- Partner with engineering and the supplier(s) to resolve complex problems, to ensure on time delivery of critical material in order to support customer and company requirements.
- Develop presentations, white papers, process flow charts to support continuous process improvement projects.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Material Science, Business or related technical discipline.
- Twelve (12) years of experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of operational processes and interdependencies.
- Ability to understand manufacturing process, business process and develop improvement plans around the same to achieve optimal operational performance.
- Solid data analytical skills with the ability to develop into action plans.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization, including Executives.
- Previous work experience in commodity management, procurement, contracting, materials management, operations management.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.

- Outstanding organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
