Clinical Services Manager Jobs in Virginia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical services manager in Virginia?
Most clinical services manager roles in Virginia require a relevant clinical license issued or recognized by the Virginia Board of Nursing, the Virginia Board of Counseling, or another board under the Virginia Department of Health Professions, depending on your background. You'll typically need a bachelor's degree in a clinical or health administration field, though many Virginia employers prefer a master's for senior roles. Building experience in a direct care or supervisory role within a Virginia health system, behavioral health agency, or home health provider is the most common path to qualifying.
Which companies hire clinical services managers in Virginia?
Employers hiring clinical services managers in Virginia right now include Extra Special Parents, EMS, and Sentara, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Virginia's mix of large integrated health systems, state-funded behavioral health agencies, and federally qualified health centers means consistent demand from both private and public-sector employers.
Which Virginia cities have the most clinical services manager jobs?
Richmond, Virginia Beach, and Norfolk have the most clinical services manager openings in Virginia right now. The Northern Virginia and Richmond corridors drive much of that volume given the concentration of large hospital systems, Medicaid managed care organizations, and government health contractors, while Hampton Roads adds steady demand through its military-affiliated medical centers and regional health networks.
Are there remote clinical services manager jobs in Virginia?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely administrative roles, since clinical services managers often need to be on-site to oversee staff and patient care operations. About 44% of clinical services manager openings tied to Virginia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to be concentrated in care coordination, utilization review, and telehealth program management functions.
How can I get hired as a clinical services manager in Virginia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a clinical team lead, charge nurse, or care coordinator role at a Virginia health system and building supervisory hours from there. Employers like Inova Health System, Sentara Healthcare, and VCU Health run structured leadership development and new manager cohort programs that actively recruit internal candidates with clinical backgrounds. Earning a Virginia Department of Health Professions credential in your clinical specialty and completing a healthcare management certificate strengthens your application significantly when competing against candidates with more direct management experience.
Where can I find and apply to clinical services manager jobs in Virginia?
You can find and apply to clinical services manager jobs in Virginia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Virginia openings from health systems, behavioral health agencies, home health providers, and other employers across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
