Product at Brex
The Product team is at the forefront of Brex's mission to empower employees anywhere to make better financial decisions. With a deep understanding of the business, we identify and scope out the most impactful opportunities for Brex to tackle. We are responsible for aligning cross-functional teams — such as Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Design — on key decisions. We set strategy and drive products from inception to launch, enabling Brex to grow rapidly and help our customers reach their full potential.
What You’ll Do
Brex has an abundance of opportunities to develop tech-enabled infrastructure and applications to drive GTM productivity, measured by pipeline dollars, conversion rates, customer activation, retention, and ultimately revenue. This role will drive key initiatives to work with a dedicated Engineering and Design team and a set of XFN partners to develop tech-enabled tooling, infrastructure, and applications to support Brex’s revenue growth and retention. Brex is at the forefront of re-architecting its GTM systems with modern, AI-powered infrastructure. You’ll work with a dedicated engineering team and cross-functional leadership partners to design and build scalable systems that increase productivity and revenue leverage across the funnel.
This Includes Initiatives Such As
- AI agents embedded across GTM workflows — designing, deploying, and iterating on autonomous agents that handle prospecting, lead qualification, customer onboarding, and lifecycle engagement
- Intelligent outbound and lifecycle automation — building systems that dynamically personalize outreach timing, channel, and messaging based on real-time signals
- Pipeline prioritization and scoring — helping improve our ML-driven models that continuously learn from conversion outcomes
- Application and onboarding optimization — using AI to reduce friction, predict drop-off, and adaptively guide customers through activation
- Experimentation infrastructure — standing up frameworks to rapidly test AI-driven interventions across the funnel, with clear attribution to revenue outcomes
- Revenue tooling that compounds — building platforms (not point solutions) that make every rep and marketer measurably more productive over time
Where you’ll work
This role will be based in either our San Francisco, Seattle or New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office at least 3 days per week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year, for a minimum of one week at a time.
Responsibilities
- Own a critical GTM-related metric and define the product strategy and roadmap to drive step-change improvements.
- Identify structural bottlenecks across the revenue funnel — spanning tooling, automation, data, incentives, and workflows — and design systems to address them.
- Lead 0→1 and 1→N initiatives that re-architect Brex’s GTM infrastructure.
- Partner deeply with Sales, Marketing, RevOps, Engineering, Legal, IT, and Data to drive high-impact outcomes.
- Influence stakeholders and executives through clear strategy, strong business cases, and measurable results.
- Establish clear input and output metrics, and operate with rigor on experimentation, prioritization, and tradeoffs.
- Help define and scale Brex’s Growth Product function as it evolves.
Requirements
- Experience building and scaling growth, revenue, or GTM systems in a high-growth technology company.
- Experience owning and materially moving company-level metrics.
- Strong systems thinking — ability to identify leverage points across product, process, and people systems.
- Demonstrated track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with executive visibility.
- Deep analytical fluency; comfortable working with funnel metrics, experimentation frameworks, and data tools (SQL proficiency preferred).
- High ownership mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguity and build from first principles.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $240,000 - $300,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.

Position your backend experience in fintech domains
Brex Product Engineers typically own full-stack features tied to spend management, card infrastructure, or banking APIs. Frame your resume around payment systems, financial data pipelines, or compliance tooling so your background maps directly to their product areas.
Confirm LCA posting before your offer stage
Before accepting an offer, ask Brex's recruiting team whether the Labor Condition Application has been filed with DOL. For H-1B transfers or new cap-exempt filings, LCA certification is a prerequisite and can affect your start date by several weeks.
Clarify OPT STEM extension eligibility early
If you're on F-1 OPT, verify that Brex is enrolled in E-Verify, which is required for STEM OPT extensions. Financial technology employers in this space typically meet that requirement, but confirming upfront protects your 24-month extension window.
Target roles flagged for sponsorship on Migrate Mate
Filter Product Engineer openings by visa type on Migrate Mate to surface Brex roles that have an active sponsorship history. This saves time you'd otherwise spend cold-applying to postings with no sponsorship track record in your category.
Prepare for a technical screen covering distributed systems
Brex's engineering interviews emphasize designing reliable financial systems at scale. Review concepts like event-driven architecture, idempotency in payment flows, and multi-region consistency so your technical round reflects work directly relevant to their core infrastructure.
Understand H-1B portability if you're mid-employment
If you're already on an approved H-1B with another employer, you can start at Brex once USCIS receives the new I-129 petition under AC21 portability rules. You don't need to wait for final approval, but your prior employer's petition must have been approved and you must have accrued 180 days.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Brex sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineers?
Yes, Brex sponsors H-1B visas for Product Engineer roles. They file both new cap-subject petitions during the annual H-1B lottery and cap-exempt transfers for candidates already holding an approved H-1B visa with another employer. If you're mid-lottery season, ask the recruiter whether a transfer filing is possible so you're not locked into an October start date.
How do I apply for Product Engineer jobs at Brex?
Apply directly through Brex's careers page and filter by engineering. Before applying, research which product area your experience aligns with, such as spend controls, bill pay, or developer APIs, and tailor your application accordingly. You can also browse open Product Engineer roles at Brex filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate to confirm sponsorship eligibility before you apply.
Which visa types does Brex sponsor for Product Engineer roles?
Brex sponsors H-1B, TN visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Product Engineers, and supports Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. If you're a Canadian citizen, TN is often the fastest path because it doesn't require USCIS approval and can be processed at the border.
What qualifications does Brex look for in Product Engineers?
Brex typically looks for engineers with experience building distributed systems, financial products, or developer-facing APIs. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is standard for H-1B specialty occupation eligibility. Beyond credentials, hands-on experience with payment infrastructure, strong ownership mentality in cross-functional product teams, and familiarity with compliance constraints in regulated financial environments tend to stand out.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Brex Product Engineer offer?
Timeline depends on your visa type. H-1B transfers under AC21 portability can allow you to start within a few weeks of USCIS receiving the I-129. New cap-subject H-1B petitions have an October 1 start date following the April lottery. TN status for Canadians can be obtained at a port of entry on your first day. STEM OPT extensions take up to 90 days to process with USCIS, so file early.
