Now is your time to explore your next journey at DaVita.
What you can expect:
- Be a part of a Team that appreciates, supports and relies on each other in a positive environment.
- Performance-based rewards based on stellar individual and team contributions.

- Available for on-call rotations - We're a healthcare provider, and sometimes our clinics and patients have needs late at night, on the weekends, and even during the wee hours of the morning. As a Biomed team, we are committed to meeting those needs, no matter what time the request comes in. We'll ask you to share in this commitment by taking an on-call rotation once in a while.
- Close proximity - Our biomed technicians should reside fairly close to the clinics that they support, so they can provide adequate emergency response coverage. Your recruiter will discuss the clinic geography with you.

Obtain a Biomedical Equipment Technician Certification First
DaVita's dialysis equipment technician roles favor candidates with CBET or equivalent biomedical certification. Holding this credential before you apply signals technical readiness and reduces the friction an employer feels when evaluating a sponsored candidate over a domestic hire.
Target Clinics in Underserved or High-Turnover Regions
DaVita operates hundreds of dialysis centers in rural and medically underserved areas that consistently struggle to fill technical roles. Filtering your search by these locations puts you in front of hiring managers with the most urgent need and the highest motivation to sponsor.
Separate Your OPT Period From Your H-1B Timeline
If you're on F-1 OPT, DaVita can employ you immediately while sponsoring your H-1B for the next cap season. Confirm your OPT expiration date against the H-1B filing window so your employer knows exactly how much runway they have before USCIS approval is required.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Service Technician Roles
DaVita's Service Technician openings are spread across hundreds of clinic locations and don't all surface on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for DaVita roles that have active visa sponsorship, so you're only applying where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During the Offer Stage
DaVita sponsors multiple visa categories for technical staff, but the type offered can depend on your degree field, nationality, and the specific facility's budget authority. Ask the recruiter directly which visa types the hiring clinic has sponsored previously so you're aligned before accepting an offer.
Prepare Documentation That Proves Hands-On Technical Equivalency
If your biomedical or engineering degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation completed before DaVita's HR team reviews your file. USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation eligibility for technician roles, and a certified evaluation removes the most common point of delay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DaVita sponsor H-1B visas for Service Technicians?
Yes, DaVita has sponsored H-1B visas for Service Technicians. These roles typically qualify as specialty occupations when the position requires a degree in biomedical engineering, electronics, or a related technical field. Your specific situation, including your degree and the clinic's staffing needs, will shape how DaVita structures the petition with USCIS.
How do I apply for Service Technician jobs at DaVita?
You can browse and apply for Service Technician openings at DaVita through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship so you're not wasting applications on positions that won't support your immigration status. DaVita posts roles across hundreds of clinic locations, so narrowing by region and sponsorship type before applying saves significant time.
Which visa types does DaVita commonly use for Service Technician roles?
DaVita has used H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for technical staff. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or technician classifications. The right category depends on your nationality, degree field, and how long you've already been working in the U.S.
What qualifications does DaVita expect for Service Technician roles?
DaVita typically looks for candidates with a degree or formal training in biomedical equipment technology, electronics, or mechanical engineering, combined with hands-on experience servicing medical devices. Certification from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation strengthens your application. Prior experience with dialysis or other life-sustaining medical equipment is a clear differentiator in the hiring process.
How do I plan my timeline around DaVita's sponsorship process?
If you're targeting an H-1B, work backward from the April 1 USCIS filing date. DaVita would need to submit your registration in March, meaning your offer and internal approvals should be finalized by February at the latest. For OPT candidates, confirm your expiration date early so DaVita's HR team can initiate the H-1B petition before your authorized period ends.
