Align your credentials to Deloitte's specialty occupation standards
Deloitte's Technical Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. If your degree is in a different discipline, document how your coursework and certifications map specifically to the technical domain of the role you're targeting.
Target practices with active federal delivery work
Deloitte's Government and Public Services practice regularly hires Technical Managers for program delivery and systems integration. These teams have predictable hiring cycles tied to contract awards, which creates more structured sponsorship timelines than project-based commercial practices.
Browse open Technical Manager roles on Migrate Mate
Deloitte posts Technical Manager openings across multiple practices simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter for roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where the hiring process is already set up for international candidates.
Understand how Deloitte structures its LCA filings
Deloitte files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL before your H-1B petition can be submitted to USCIS. The LCA locks in your work location and prevailing wage level, so confirm your assigned office early in the offer process to avoid delays caused by location changes.
Clarify sponsorship scope before signing your offer letter
Deloitte sponsors both nonimmigrant visas and employment-based Green Cards, but the timeline and conditions for each differ by practice group and seniority. Ask directly during the offer stage whether PERM sponsorship is included and at what point in your tenure it typically begins.
Prepare for the cap-exempt H-1B1 and E-3 pathways if eligible
If you're a Chilean, Singaporean, or Australian national, Deloitte sponsors H-1B1 visa and E-3 visas, which bypass the annual H-1B lottery. These can be filed at any time of year, so you're not limited to the April cap season that restricts most other candidates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Managers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Manager roles. Deloitte participates in the annual H-1B lottery each April, so if you need cap-subject H-1B visa sponsorship, your start date will typically align with the October 1 fiscal year start. Deloitte also maintains internal immigration teams that coordinate the petition process, which means you're not navigating USCIS filings on your own.
How do I apply for Technical Manager jobs at Deloitte?
You can apply directly through Deloitte's careers portal or find open Technical Manager roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Deloitte's application process for this level usually includes an initial recruiter screen, technical and behavioral interviews, and a case or solution presentation. Identifying which practice area aligns with your background before applying improves your chances of reaching the interview stage.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Technical Manager roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for Technical Managers depending on your nationality. For longer-term pathways, Deloitte also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process. Australian nationals can pursue the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and can be filed year-round. Chilean and Singaporean nationals may be eligible for the H-1B1 under the same cap-exempt framework.
What qualifications and experience does Deloitte expect for Technical Manager candidates?
Deloitte generally expects Technical Manager candidates to have a relevant bachelor's degree in a field like computer science, engineering, or information systems, along with several years of progressive experience in technical delivery or systems implementation. Industry certifications in cloud platforms, cybersecurity, or enterprise software strengthen your profile. Prior consulting experience or exposure to large-scale client engagements is weighted heavily at this level.
How do I think about timing when pursuing sponsorship for a Technical Manager role at Deloitte?
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, Deloitte must register you in the USCIS lottery during March, with petitions filed in April for an October 1 start. If you're on OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility early, as it can bridge a full annual cap cycle. E-3 and H-1B1 visa candidates have more flexibility since those visas are filed outside the cap season and can support faster start dates.
