About the Team
The Emerging Markets team promotes growth in local economies by building meaningful partnerships with merchants across underdeveloped, high-opportunity markets. We focus on T4–T5 geographies—one of DoorDash's highest company priorities, representing over 40% of remaining restaurant opportunities as we expand beyond core cities and suburbs. Our team creates first connections with SMB restaurants and retailers, helping them grow and monetize through on-demand delivery.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Account Executive (EMAE) to join our Emerging Markets org. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for owning the full sales cycle and bringing high-potential SMB merchants in emerging markets onto the DoorDash platform. This role is fast-paced, highly outbound, and quota-carrying. You will manage a dedicated lead list of ~225 merchants, spend the majority of your day cold calling, and drive a structured, repeatable process to pitch, consult, and close new partners on our platform.
You will report to an Inside Sales Manager who is committed to your success, offering ongoing coaching, development, and pathways for growth. We expect this role to be flexible, with some time in office and some time remote. You will need the ability to travel as needed for in-person collaboration through training, offsites, team-building events, and other business-related necessities.
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Transform how small and mid-size merchants in emerging markets grow using DoorDash's platform
- Manage a high-volume, outbound-led workflow, including extensive daily cold calling
- Work a structured pipeline of ~225 assigned leads and own a quarterly sales quota
- Creatively engage merchants and build trusted relationships across lower-density geographies
- Master sales tools and outreach channels to drive lead conversion
- Operate in a fast-paced environment with clear daily and weekly activity expectations
- Participate in Prep Kitchen, DoorDash's structured inside-sales training program
- Grow your sales career through continuous coaching and performance development
We're excited about you because…
- You have at least 1+ years of outbound sales experience, ideally in a short-cycle environment
- You have proven experience running full sales cycles from prospecting discovery pitch close
- You have demonstrated success in high-volume outreach and pipeline generation
- You have strong cold-calling skills and comfort working under pressure
- You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- You consistently hit or exceeded sales targets
- You embody DoorDash's Core Values and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- You have a coachable mindset — you welcome feedback, learn fast, and adapt with ease
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, or restaurant environments
- Prior outbound cold calling experience with activity-based KPIs
- Exposure to the on-demand delivery, logistics, or restaurant-tech ecosystem
- Multilingual skills to support diverse merchant audiences

Quantify Your Sales Impact Before Applying
DoorDash evaluates Account Executives on measurable outcomes, so document your pipeline metrics, quota attainment percentages, and deal cycle length before you apply. Concrete numbers from your sales history strengthen both your resume and your visa petition's specialty occupation case.
Target DoorDash's Mid-Market and Enterprise Teams
DoorDash hires Account Executives across SMB, mid-market, and enterprise segments. Mid-market and enterprise roles carry more defined scope and seniority, which makes the specialty occupation argument for H-1B or E-3 sponsorship substantially easier to support with your credentials.
Understand Which Visa Fits Your Nationality
Australian citizens should prioritize the E-3 pathway, which has no lottery and processes faster than H-1B. Canadian citizens can pursue a TN visa under the USMCA. Clarifying your visa category early lets you align your timeline with DoorDash's standard hiring process without surprises at the offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate to Identify Sponsorship-Confirmed Openings
Not every Sales Account Executive listing at DoorDash is open to sponsored candidates. Filter DoorDash's active roles by visa type on Migrate Mate so you only invest time in positions where your work authorization is already a fit before the first recruiter call.
Get Your LCA Timing Right After Receiving an Offer
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B or E-3 petition. LCA certification typically takes seven business days. Build this into your start date negotiation so neither you nor DoorDash is caught by a compressed onboarding timeline.
Align Your Degree Field to the Role Description
USCIS scrutinizes whether your academic background directly supports a Sales Account Executive position at a technology company. A degree in business, marketing, economics, or information systems strengthens your specialty occupation argument, especially if DoorDash's job posting specifies a preferred field of study.

Find Sales Account Executive at DoorDash JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Account Executives?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Account Executive roles. As a large technology company operating across the U.S., DoorDash has established infrastructure for employer-sponsored work visas, including H-1B petitions. Because H-1B requires USCIS lottery selection each April for cap-subject candidates, your timing and application strategy matter significantly when targeting roles at DoorDash.
How do I apply for Sales Account Executive jobs at DoorDash?
Search DoorDash's careers portal directly or use Migrate Mate to filter Sales Account Executive openings by visa type so you surface roles explicitly open to sponsored candidates. Tailor your application to DoorDash's sales motion, emphasizing merchant acquisition, territory management, or marketplace growth depending on the segment the role targets.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Account Executive roles at DoorDash?
H-1B is the most common visa for Sales Account Executives at DoorDash for candidates from most countries. Australian citizens can use the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and renews in two-year increments. Canadian citizens may qualify under the TN category. F-1 OPT holders can begin employment before transitioning to a sponsored petition.
What qualifications does DoorDash expect for a Sales Account Executive?
DoorDash typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, combined with demonstrable B2B or SMB sales experience. For sponsored roles, your degree field should align closely with the position's scope. Experience managing a defined sales territory, meeting quota, and navigating longer deal cycles is consistently valued across DoorDash's Account Executive openings.
How do I plan my timeline if DoorDash offers me a sponsored Sales Account Executive role?
Your start date depends on your current visa status and which sponsorship pathway applies. H-1B transfers for candidates already in status can move quickly, while new H-1B cap-subject petitions require April lottery registration with an October 1 start date. E-3 and TN visas process faster and are not lottery-dependent. Build at least four to six weeks into your timeline after an offer to allow for LCA certification and petition filing.
