Align Your Skills With Healthcare Compliance Requirements
Humana's DevOps roles often require familiarity with HIPAA-compliant infrastructure and regulated cloud environments. Certifications in AWS GovCloud or Azure for Healthcare signal you understand the compliance constraints that come with healthcare data pipelines.
Target Internal Platform and SRE Teams Specifically
Humana structures DevOps hiring across distinct pillars: platform engineering, site reliability, and CI/CD tooling. Roles under the platform engineering umbrella have historically moved faster through internal approvals, so filtering by team type in your applications sharpens your targeting.
Browse Open Roles Through Migrate Mate First
Humana posts DevOps openings across multiple channels, but not all list sponsorship availability upfront. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Humana DevOps roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship so you're not applying blind.
Prepare Your LCA Documentation Before the Offer Stage
Humana typically files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before issuing a formal H-1B offer. Having your degree equivalency evaluation, employment history summary, and prior visa records organized in advance prevents delays once the employer initiates the process.
Clarify OPT to H-1B Transition Timing With Your Recruiter
If you're on F-1 OPT, the April H-1B lottery and October 1 start date create a gap that many large healthcare employers bridge with cap-gap protections. Confirm with Humana's HR team early whether they'll continue your employment through the cap-gap period.
Highlight Infrastructure-as-Code Experience in Applications
Humana's job postings for DevOps roles consistently list Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tooling as core requirements. Frame your resume around production deployments and measurable reliability outcomes rather than tool familiarity alone to clear initial screening.

Find DevOps at Humana JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Humana sponsor H-1B visas for DevOps roles?
Yes, Humana sponsors H-1B visas for DevOps positions. The company files petitions across both the regular and master's cap pools. For DevOps roles specifically, the process typically begins after an offer is extended, with Humana's legal team coordinating the Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS submission. Confirming sponsorship intent early in your recruiter conversations is the practical first step.
How do I apply for DevOps jobs at Humana?
Start by identifying open DevOps roles on Humana's careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions that support visa sponsorship. Tailor your application to reflect healthcare-specific infrastructure experience, HIPAA-relevant tooling, and cloud platform certifications. Humana's hiring process for DevOps typically includes a technical screen, a systems design round, and a panel interview focused on reliability and security practices.
Which visa types does Humana commonly use for DevOps hires?
Humana sponsors a range of visa categories for DevOps roles, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and how long you've been in the U.S., so clarifying with Humana's HR team early helps.
What qualifications does Humana expect for sponsored DevOps positions?
Humana's DevOps job postings consistently require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field, which also supports H-1B specialty occupation eligibility. Beyond the degree, they look for hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Healthcare sector experience or familiarity with HIPAA-compliant architecture strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a DevOps role at Humana?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. H-1B petitions follow USCIS's April lottery with an October 1 start date, meaning the gap between offer and work authorization can be six months or longer. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 runs on a separate, multi-year track. TN and OPT extensions move faster. USCIS premium processing can reduce H-1B adjudication to roughly 15 business days for an additional fee.
