Align Your Resume to Client-Facing Leadership
Jobot places Development Managers with external clients, so your resume needs to show cross-functional team leadership and delivery outcomes, not just internal project work. Hiring managers screen for candidates who can operate across industries quickly.
Clarify Sponsorship Before Recruiter Screening
Jobot recruiters move fast and may screen you out early if visa needs aren't clear upfront. State your visa type, current status, and work authorization timeline in your opening message so recruiters can match you to client roles that support sponsorship.
Confirm Whether the End Client Sponsors
In staffing arrangements, the entity filing your H-1B petition may be Jobot or the end client. Ask your recruiter directly which entity would be listed as your petitioner, since this affects USCIS filing timelines and your ability to change roles later.
Time Your Application Around H-1B Cap Cycles
If you need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. Engaging Jobot in January or February gives recruiters enough lead time to match you to a client role before the registration window closes.
Document Technical Credentials for Specialty Occupation Evidence
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to establish that the Development Manager role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Gather degree transcripts, professional certifications, and past job descriptions that demonstrate a direct relationship between your technical degree and the managerial functions of the role.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsoring Jobot Openings
Jobot posts Development Manager roles across multiple client industries simultaneously, making it hard to filter for visa-sponsoring positions manually. Use Migrate Mate to search verified sponsorship listings at Jobot and target roles where your visa type is already supported.

Find Development Manager at Jobot JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Jobot sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Jobot has sponsored H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. Because Jobot operates as a staffing firm, sponsorship eligibility often depends on the specific client placement and the end client's willingness to support the petition. Ask your recruiter early whether the role you're being considered for has confirmed sponsorship approval from the client company.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Jobot?
You can apply directly through Jobot's website or browse verified sponsoring openings through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed. When you reach out to a Jobot recruiter, include your current visa status and authorization timeline upfront. Jobot recruiters move quickly, and clarity on your work authorization helps them match you to eligible client roles faster.
Which visa types does Jobot commonly use for Development Manager roles?
Jobot has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visas for Development Manager positions. H-1B is the most common pathway for long-term sponsorship. F-1 OPT is viable if you're within your authorized work period, including the STEM OPT extension if your degree qualifies. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible professional categories and requires no USCIS petition, which can speed up the hiring process.
What qualifications does Jobot expect for Development Manager candidates?
Jobot typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, combined with demonstrated experience leading software development teams. Because placements span multiple client industries, experience managing agile or scrum environments, overseeing delivery timelines, and communicating across technical and non-technical stakeholders strengthens your candidacy significantly. Specific stack requirements vary by client.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at Jobot?
Timeline depends on your visa type and whether the role is cap-subject. For H-1B, plan for USCIS processing of several months after the cap registration period in March, with an October 1 employment start date. TN and OPT transfers can move faster, sometimes within weeks of an offer. Jobot's staffing model means client approval adds a step before any petition is filed, so build extra lead time into your planning.
