Tips for Finding Radiologic Tech Jobs at Legacy Health
Verify your credentials before applying
Most Radiologic Tech roles at Legacy Health require ARRT certification and Oregon state licensure. Confirm your credentials are active and transferable before submitting applications, since conditional offers often hinge on licensure status.
Target modality-specific openings strategically
Legacy Health posts roles across CT, MRI, and interventional radiology separately. Applying to the modality you're already trained and credentialed in gives you a stronger sponsorship case, since specialized roles are harder to fill domestically.
Find Legacy Health jobs through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Radiologic Tech openings at Legacy Health by visa type, so you only spend time on positions where sponsorship is explicitly supported for your category.
Ask HR about their LCA filing timeline
Legacy Health must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. Ask during the offer stage how long their internal process takes, since healthcare systems can run longer than typical employers.
Confirm OPT authorization covers your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT, check that your EAD is valid through your proposed start date. OPT for healthcare roles is often tight on timing, and hospitals like Legacy Health need you credentialed and ready before your first shift.
Use TN status if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Radiologic Technologist is an eligible TN profession under USMCA. TN status avoids the H-1B lottery entirely and can be processed at the border, making it a faster path if Legacy Health is offering a qualifying position.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Legacy Health sponsor H-1B visas for Radiologic Techs?
Yes, Legacy Health sponsors H-1B visas for Radiologic Tech roles. Because H-1B petitions require a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL before USCIS filing, the process typically takes several months. Engage with Legacy Health's HR team early in the offer stage to understand their internal timeline and avoid gaps in your work authorization.
How do I apply for Radiologic Tech jobs at Legacy Health?
Applications go through Legacy Health's careers portal, where roles are listed by modality and facility. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific imaging modality listed and confirm your ARRT certification and Oregon licensure are current. You can also browse open positions filtered by visa sponsorship availability on Migrate Mate before applying directly through Legacy Health.
Which visa types does Legacy Health support for Radiologic Tech roles?
Legacy Health has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and J-1 visas for this role type. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates completing clinical training. TN visa is a strong option for Canadian or Mexican nationals since it bypasses the H-1B lottery. J-1 visa is typically tied to exchange programs with specific return-home requirements after the placement ends.
What qualifications does Legacy Health expect for sponsored Radiologic Tech positions?
Legacy Health generally requires ARRT certification in the relevant modality and an Oregon Radiologic Technology license for permanent roles. Candidates coming from international training programs should expect their credentials to be evaluated for U.S. equivalency. Clinical experience in the specific modality advertised, such as CT, MRI, or interventional, strengthens both your application and the employer's case for sponsorship.
How do I time my job search if my OPT or visa status has a deadline?
Start your search at least four to six months before your current authorization expires. Hospital hiring cycles move slower than tech or finance, and Legacy Health's credentialing and onboarding process adds time beyond the offer stage. If you're in a 60-day grace period, prioritize roles where sponsorship is confirmed upfront rather than negotiating it after the offer is extended.
