Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Radiologic Tech Jobs at University of Utah Jobs
Obtain ARRT Certification Before Applying
University of Utah requires active ARRT registration for Radiologic Tech roles. Without it, your application won't clear HR screening regardless of visa status. Confirm your certification is current and your modality endorsements match the posted position before submitting.
Target Postings Under University of Utah Health
Radiologic Tech openings are posted through University of Utah Health, not the main university HR portal. Searching the wrong portal means missing active roles. Filter by department and imaging modality to find positions where sponsorship conversations are most productive.
Use Migrate Mate to Track Open Imaging Roles
Radiologic Tech openings at University of Utah move quickly and don't always stay posted long. Use Migrate Mate to monitor active sponsorship-eligible roles so you're applying during the window when the hiring manager is actively reviewing candidates.
Align Your Modality Specialty With Open Roles
University of Utah Health runs distinct imaging departments, including CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology. Targeting a posting that matches your primary modality significantly improves your chances of advancing past initial screening and into a sponsorship-eligible conversation.
Clarify Sponsorship Type Early in the Offer Stage
University of Utah sponsors multiple visa categories for clinical staff, including H-1B and TN. Once you receive an offer, ask HR directly which pathway they intend to file. TN processing is faster for Canadians and Mexicans, while H-1B requires USCIS approval and takes longer.
Confirm DOL Prevailing Wage Before Accepting an Offer
For H-1B sponsorship, DOL requires University of Utah to pay at least the prevailing wage for Radiologic Tech roles in the Salt Lake City area. Review the wage level in your offer letter against DOL wage data before signing to ensure the filing will proceed without a wage-based RFE.

Find Radiologic Tech at University of Utah JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does University of Utah sponsor H-1B visas for Radiologic Techs?
Yes, University of Utah sponsors H-1B visas for Radiologic Techs. As an academic medical institution, it qualifies as a cap-exempt H-1B employer through its affiliation with higher education, which means petitions can be filed at any time without waiting for the annual lottery. This is a significant practical advantage for international candidates pursuing clinical imaging roles.
Which visa types does University of Utah commonly use for Radiologic Tech roles?
University of Utah sponsors several visa categories for Radiologic Tech positions, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 for exchange visitors in eligible programs. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or CPT may also work in these roles while their status is valid. The right pathway depends on your nationality and current status.
What qualifications does University of Utah expect for Radiologic Tech positions?
Most Radiologic Tech roles at University of Utah require active ARRT certification in radiography or a relevant modality endorsement such as CT or MRI. State licensure in Utah is also required. Positions in specialized departments, including interventional radiology or nuclear medicine, typically expect prior experience in that specific modality rather than general diagnostic imaging experience.
How do I apply for Radiologic Tech jobs at University of Utah?
Applications are submitted through the University of Utah Health careers portal. Search by department or job category to locate active Radiologic Tech postings. Once you identify a role, you can also browse visa-sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate to confirm the position is still active before applying. Tailor your application to the specific modality listed in the job description.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing H-1B sponsorship through University of Utah?
Because University of Utah qualifies as a cap-exempt employer, H-1B petitions can be filed year-round without lottery registration. USCIS standard processing typically takes three to six months, though premium processing reduces this to around 15 business days. Factor in time for the Labor Condition Application, which DOL must certify before the H-1B petition is filed. Starting conversations with HR early in the hiring process gives both sides time to move efficiently.
