Frame your pipeline metrics around enterprise deals
MongoDB's BDM roles are focused on mid-market and enterprise outbound, so document quota attainment, average deal size, and pipeline conversion rates in your resume. Quantified enterprise experience gives hiring managers a concrete case for sponsorship.
Target MongoDB's segment-specific BDM openings strategically
MongoDB structures BDM hiring by vertical and deal segment. Filter open roles by industry alignment, whether that's financial services, public sector, or technology, since matching your background to a specific segment strengthens your case during interviews.
Get your LCA and I-129 timeline straight before offer stage
Once MongoDB extends an offer, your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the I-129 petition to USCIS. Understanding this sequence helps you ask the right questions and set realistic start-date expectations with your recruiter.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active MongoDB BDM roles
Finding roles that actively support your visa type takes more than a standard job search. Browse Migrate Mate to filter Business Development Manager openings at MongoDB by the visa categories you need, so you're applying where sponsorship is already established.
Prepare to address nonimmigrant intent if you're on E-3 or TN
E-3 and TN visas require demonstrating temporary work intent at the consulate or port of entry. If MongoDB is pursuing a Green Card pathway for you simultaneously, work with their immigration counsel on how to present your situation accurately.

Find Business Development Manager at MongoDB JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does MongoDB sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Yes, MongoDB sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Manager roles. Because the H-1B requires a specialty occupation, MongoDB's BDM positions are typically structured around a business, marketing, or related bachelor's degree requirement. If you're subject to the H-1B lottery, timing your application around the April registration window is essential since your start date cannot precede October 1 of that fiscal year.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at MongoDB?
Apply directly through MongoDB's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which lets you filter BDM openings at MongoDB by the visa type you need. Tailor your application to the specific segment MongoDB is hiring for, whether enterprise, commercial, or a vertical like financial services, and be upfront about your visa status in the recruiter screening call so sponsorship is confirmed early in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Development Manager roles at MongoDB?
MongoDB supports H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Business Development Manager roles, along with employment-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. Australian citizens often pursue the E-3 given its simpler process and no lottery requirement. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status under the USMCA professional categories relevant to business roles.
What qualifications does MongoDB expect for Business Development Manager candidates?
MongoDB's BDM roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field alongside demonstrated experience in outbound pipeline generation, preferably within enterprise software or cloud technology. Familiarity with database, developer tooling, or data platform markets is a strong differentiator. Prior experience with CRM-driven sales motions and multi-stakeholder enterprise cycles is consistently valued across their BDM job postings.
How do I time my job search at MongoDB around visa processing?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period begins when your employment ends, so targeting MongoDB roles with at least three to four months of OPT remaining gives enough runway for offer, LCA filing with the DOL, and I-129 processing with USCIS. For H-1B transfers from another employer, H-1B portability lets you start working at MongoDB once USCIS receives the petition, without waiting for full approval.
