Get Your Credentials Evaluated Before Applying
Foreign therapy degrees must be evaluated by a NACES-approved credential evaluation service before Orlando Health can assess your qualifications. Submit transcripts early, delays here stall the entire offer and sponsorship timeline.
Confirm State Licensure Requirements for Florida
Florida requires active state licensure for most therapist roles. If your license is pending, clarify with the hiring team upfront whether Orlando Health will extend a conditional offer while you complete the Florida Department of Health licensing process.
Target Specialty Units With Consistent Hiring Activity
Orlando Health's rehabilitation, behavioral health, and pediatric units post Therapist openings more consistently than general wards. Focusing your applications on these service lines improves your odds of reaching a recruiter who regularly works with sponsored candidates.
Ask Directly About Sponsorship During Screening
Not every recruiter automatically routes international applicants to HR legal. When you reach the phone screen stage, ask whether the role is eligible for H-1B or TN sponsorship. This surfaces any internal eligibility restrictions before you invest further in the process.
Find Open Therapist Roles Using Migrate Mate
Searching for sponsored Therapist positions across a large health system is time-consuming. Use Migrate Mate to filter Orlando Health's open roles by visa sponsorship type, so you apply only to positions where sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed.
Understand the PERM Timeline for Permanent Residency
Orlando Health sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for qualifying Therapists, but the PERM labor certification process filed with DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS petition filing even begins. Raise this pathway in negotiations after receiving your initial offer.

Find Therapist at Orlando Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Orlando Health sponsor H-1B visas for Therapists?
Yes, Orlando Health sponsors H-1B visas for Therapist roles that meet the specialty occupation standard. Therapy positions requiring a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a specific clinical field generally qualify. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to an annual lottery, timing your offer and filing relative to USCIS's registration window in March is critical to your sponsorship path.
How do I apply for Therapist jobs at Orlando Health?
Applications go through Orlando Health's careers portal, where you can filter by department and location. If you want to identify only roles where visa sponsorship has been confirmed, Migrate Mate lets you browse Orlando Health's Therapist openings filtered by visa type before you apply, saving time spent on positions that won't support international candidates.
Which visa types does Orlando Health commonly use for Therapist roles?
Orlando Health supports H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, EB-2, and EB-3 for Therapist positions. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying therapy occupations. J-1 is typically used for clinical exchange programs. EB-2 and EB-3 are the standard Green Card pathways for therapists who remain with the organization long term.
What qualifications does Orlando Health expect for sponsored Therapist roles?
Orlando Health generally requires a relevant clinical degree, such as a Master of Social Work, Doctor of Physical Therapy, or Master of Occupational Therapy, along with active or pending Florida state licensure. For H-1B eligibility specifically, USCIS requires the role to mandate a specific degree field, so generalist job descriptions that list broad degree requirements can complicate sponsorship. Roles with defined specialty requirements are stronger candidates.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take for Therapist roles at Orlando Health?
From offer to start date, expect a minimum of three to six months for H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings. Cap-subject H-1B petitions tie your start date to October 1, the federal fiscal year start, so an offer made in early spring may mean a six-month wait. PERM-based Green Card processes filed through DOL add an additional 12 to 24 months beyond the initial petition stage.
