Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Field Technician Jobs at Schneider Electric Jobs
Certify Relevant Electrical and Automation Credentials First
Schneider Electric's Field Technician roles frequently require hands-on credentials like NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical safety, or PLC certifications. Having these documented before you apply removes a common bottleneck in the employer's internal approval process for visa sponsorship.
Target Schneider Electric's Field Services Division Directly
Schneider Electric hires Field Technicians through its Field Services business unit, not just general manufacturing operations. Filtering your applications to Field Services roles signals you understand the division's scope, which covers on-site commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades at customer facilities.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Roles by Sponsorship Type
Schneider Electric sponsors multiple visa categories for Field Technicians. Use Migrate Mate to browse current openings filtered by visa type so you can target roles where your specific visa category, whether H-1B or E-3, aligns with what the hiring team is already set up to process.
Clarify Your Status Before the Offer Stage
Field Technician roles involve site access, travel requirements, and security considerations that can slow HR's visa sponsorship review. Raise your visa status early in recruiter conversations so the hiring team can loop in their immigration team before extending a formal offer.
Understand That H-1B Cap Timing Affects Your Start Date
If you need an H-1B cap-subject petition, USCIS registration opens in March with an October 1 start date at the earliest. Map this timeline against Schneider Electric's hiring cycle so you and the recruiter have aligned expectations on when you can actually begin work.
Prepare a PERM-Ready Employment History for Green Card Pathways
Schneider Electric sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Field Technicians, which requires a DOL PERM labor certification. Gather detailed records of prior job titles, duties, and employer contact information now, since PERM audits frequently request documentation that applicants scramble to reconstruct later.

Find Field Technician at Schneider Electric JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Schneider Electric sponsor H-1B visas for Field Technicians?
Yes, Schneider Electric sponsors H-1B visas for Field Technician roles. Their Field Services division regularly works with immigration counsel to process H-1B petitions for qualified technical candidates. Because Field Technician positions require specialized electrical or automation expertise, they generally meet the specialty occupation standard that USCIS requires for H-1B approval.
How do I apply for Field Technician jobs at Schneider Electric?
Applications go through Schneider Electric's careers portal, where Field Technician openings are listed under Field Services or Energy Management. You can also browse current visa-sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Schneider Electric roles by sponsorship type. In your application, highlight hands-on experience with electrical systems, PLCs, or SCADA, since those are core to the Field Technician function.
Which visa types does Schneider Electric commonly sponsor for Field Technician roles?
Schneider Electric sponsors H-1B visas for cap-subject candidates and E-3 visas for Australian citizens in Field Technician roles. For candidates seeking permanent residence, they support EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through DOL PERM labor certification. The appropriate category depends on your nationality, degree level, and the specific job duties outlined in the role.
What qualifications does Schneider Electric expect for sponsored Field Technician positions?
Most sponsored Field Technician roles at Schneider Electric require a degree or equivalent technical training in electrical engineering, electronics, or a closely related field, along with hands-on experience with industrial automation, switchgear, or building management systems. Certifications in NFPA 70E electrical safety or vendor-specific training on Schneider Electric products like EcoStruxure strengthen your candidacy significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Field Technician at Schneider Electric?
Timeline depends on visa type. E-3 visas for Australian citizens can move quickly, often within four to eight weeks from offer to consulate approval. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow USCIS's annual cycle, with a potential wait of six months or more depending on when you're selected. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically takes one to three years from labor certification through adjustment of status.
