Build a Lab-Proven VAST Portfolio First
VAST Data evaluates Solutions Architects on hands-on familiarity with all-flash NVMe storage, disaggregated architectures, and AI data pipeline design. Document proof-of-concept work or customer deployments before your first interview to show you can demo and defend the platform.
Target VAST Openings in Data-Intensive Verticals
VAST Data consistently hires Solutions Architects aligned to financial services, life sciences, and AI research accounts. Applying to roles mapped to verticals where you have domain depth significantly strengthens your candidacy and speeds the internal hiring committee's decision.
Align Your Degree Credentials to the Role
H-1B specialty occupation approval requires your degree field to match the Technical Solutions Architect function. A computer science, electrical engineering, or information systems degree is the clearest path. If your degree is adjacent, gather employer-verification letters from prior roles now.
Confirm Sponsorship Intent Before Onsite Rounds
VAST Data's recruiting team handles sponsorship decisions centrally, not at the hiring manager level. Ask directly during your recruiter screen whether the specific requisition supports H-1B or TN filing so you're not navigating that question after an offer arrives.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active VAST Data Openings
VAST Data posts Technical Solutions Architect roles across multiple regions and they fill quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions at VAST Data by visa type so you're applying to roles confirmed to support sponsorship, not guessing from a general careers page.
Plan Around H-1B Cap Timing if You're on OPT
If you're currently on F-1 OPT, USCIS H-1B cap registrations open in March for an October 1 start. Confirm your OPT expiration date now. If you won't bridge the gap, ask VAST Data's HR team whether STEM OPT extension is factored into their offer timeline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does VAST Data sponsor H-1B visas for Technical Solutions Architects?
Yes, VAST Data sponsors H-1B visas for Technical Solutions Architect roles. The company operates in the enterprise data infrastructure space and regularly recruits internationally for technical pre-sales and solutions engineering talent. Sponsorship decisions are handled centrally through HR, so confirm with your recruiter early in the process that the specific role you're applying to is open to sponsorship.
Which visa types are commonly used for Technical Solutions Architect roles at VAST Data?
H-1B is the primary work visa used for Technical Solutions Architect positions at VAST Data. F-1 OPT and CPT candidates are also considered, which means students completing relevant programs in computer science or engineering can enter the pipeline early. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA given the role's specialty occupation classification in computer systems analysis.
What qualifications does VAST Data expect for a Technical Solutions Architect?
VAST Data looks for hands-on experience with enterprise storage, NVMe or all-flash infrastructure, and customer-facing technical solutioning. A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is standard. Familiarity with AI and machine learning workloads is increasingly valued given VAST Data's positioning in the AI infrastructure market. Prior pre-sales or solutions engineering experience at a storage or data infrastructure vendor strengthens your application significantly.
How do I apply for Technical Solutions Architect jobs at VAST Data?
You can find and apply for Technical Solutions Architect openings at VAST Data through Migrate Mate, which filters active roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before investing time in the application. Roles are distributed across multiple regions and are posted on a rolling basis. Apply directly through the company's careers portal once you've identified a matching opening, and engage the recruiter early about sponsorship.
How do I plan my timeline if VAST Data is sponsoring my H-1B?
If you're moving from F-1 OPT to H-1B through VAST Data, the critical window is the annual cap registration period, which opens in March and targets an October 1 start date. USCIS premium processing can reduce the adjudication wait to roughly 15 business days once a petition is filed. Coordinate with VAST Data's HR team at least six months in advance so the Labor Condition Application is certified before the registration window opens.
