Enterprise Sales Manager Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a enterprise sales manager in Maryland?
Enterprise sales manager is not a licensed profession in Maryland, so there is no state board exam or registration required. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree and several years of quota-carrying B2B sales experience before promoting or hiring into a manager role. In Maryland's dominant markets, including federal IT and cybersecurity, familiarity with government contracting vehicles and security clearance eligibility gives candidates a meaningful edge over the competition.
How much do enterprise sales managers make in Maryland?
Enterprise sales managers in Maryland earn a median of about $137,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,270 for the lowest 10% to over $257,350 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire enterprise sales managers in Maryland?
Maryland enterprise sales manager roles are posted by Paychex, Merkle, and Sodexo and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Maryland's concentration of defense contractors, federal health IT firms, and regional financial institutions means enterprise sales roles here frequently involve government or regulated-industry accounts.
Which Maryland cities have the most enterprise sales manager jobs?
Maryland, Lanham, and Bethesda have the most enterprise sales manager openings in Maryland right now. Baltimore draws volume from its anchor healthcare systems and financial services firms, Bethesda and Rockville reflect the dense concentration of federal agencies and government contractors along the I-270 corridor, and Columbia serves as a hub for mid-market technology and managed services employers positioned between the two major metros.
Are there remote enterprise sales manager jobs in Maryland?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 33% of enterprise sales manager openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves phone, video, and digital relationship management. The parts of the role most likely to stay fully remote are pipeline management, internal reporting, and renewal conversations, while new-logo prospecting and executive briefings often still require in-person presence in the Baltimore or Washington metro.
How can I get hired as a enterprise sales manager in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from an account executive or senior sales development representative role at a Maryland-based technology or defense services firm. Employers like Leidos, SAIC, and mid-size managed security providers in Columbia and Bethesda regularly promote high-performing individual contributors into team lead or manager roles. Earning a Certified Professional Sales Person credential or completing a sales leadership program strengthens a candidacy, and lateral experience in federal account management or channel sales is viewed favorably by Maryland's government-facing employers.
Where can I find and apply to enterprise sales manager jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to enterprise sales manager jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings across Baltimore, Bethesda, Columbia, and the surrounding region. Search the listings, find the roles that fit your experience and target industry, and apply directly to each one without needing to sign up or create a profile first.
