Most enterprise sales managers in New York move into the role after several years as a top-performing individual contributor in enterprise or strategic sales. New York employers typically require a bachelor's degree, though many prioritize a verifiable record of closing large accounts over academic credentials alone. There is no state-issued license for the role, but earning certifications such as Certified Sales Leadership Professional can accelerate hiring at New York's competitive financial and technology employers.
How much do enterprise sales managers make in New York?
Enterprise sales managers in New York earn a median of about $217,640 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $107,670 for the lowest 10% to over $378,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire enterprise sales managers in New York?
Employers hiring enterprise sales managers in New York right now include Datadog, DoorDash, and Amazon Web Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's density of global headquarters in finance, media, and enterprise technology means a wide range of industries post these roles consistently throughout the year.
Which New York cities have the most enterprise sales manager jobs?
New York, Boston, and Florida have the most enterprise sales manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because it concentrates the corporate headquarters and regional offices of major financial institutions, cloud software companies, and enterprise media groups that generate the largest commercial sales teams, while Buffalo and Albany contribute volume through regional healthcare systems and state government technology contracts.

Yes, and more than most fields. About 55% of enterprise sales manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves virtual executive meetings, digital demos, and distributed team leadership. The portions most commonly done remotely are pipeline reviews, forecasting calls, and coaching sessions, while major account kick-offs and executive business reviews often require in-person presence.

Building a record of overachieving quota, combined with informal team mentorship, positions candidates well for internal promotion without requiring prior management titles.
