HR Coordinator Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hr coordinator in Louisiana?
A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related discipline is the standard starting point for hr coordinator roles in Louisiana. Louisiana does not require a state-issued license to work as an hr coordinator, but employers across the New Orleans and Baton Rouge markets consistently prefer candidates who hold or are pursuing SHRM-CP or PHR certification through HRCI. Completing an internship with a Gulf Coast energy firm, a Louisiana hospital system, or a state agency strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.
Which companies hire hr coordinators in Louisiana?
Employers hiring hr coordinators in Louisiana right now include Testronic, Citadel Completions, and Cajun Industries, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Louisiana's energy, healthcare, and higher education sectors generate the most consistent hr coordinator openings across the state.
Which Louisiana cities have the most hr coordinator jobs?
Baton Rouge, Kenner, and Hammond lead Louisiana for hr coordinator openings. New Orleans anchors demand through its large hospital networks, hospitality operators, and port-related logistics employers, Baton Rouge benefits from state government agencies, petrochemical headquarters, and Louisiana State University's administrative workforce, and Shreveport draws openings from regional healthcare systems and manufacturing operations in northwest Louisiana.
Are there remote hr coordinator jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, though they represent a smaller share than fully desk-based roles, since hr coordinators frequently handle in-person onboarding, I-9 verification, and employee relations meetings. About 0% of hr coordinator openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with remote arrangements most common for benefits administration, HRIS data entry, and recruiting coordination tasks that do not require a physical presence.
How can I get hired as a hr coordinator in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an HR assistant or administrative coordinator role at a Louisiana hospital system or state agency, where structured onboarding gives new employees exposure to core HR functions. Ochsner Health and the Louisiana Department of Civil Service both post entry-level HR positions that serve as direct stepping stones. Pursuing your SHRM-CP student pathway while completing a related degree at LSU, Tulane, or UNO adds a credential that distinguishes candidates without professional experience.
Where can I find and apply to hr coordinator jobs in Louisiana?
