HR Coordinator Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hr coordinator in Texas?
Texas does not require a state-issued license to work as an hr coordinator, so the path begins with a bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration. Most Texas employers expect at least some HR support experience alongside that degree. Earning a SHRM-CP through the Society for Human Resource Management or a PHR through HRCI adds credibility and is increasingly expected at Houston, Dallas, and Austin employers. Both credentials are nationally recognized and widely referenced in Texas job postings.
How much do HR coordinators make in Texas?
HR coordinators in Texas earn a median of about $68,920 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $43,410 for the lowest 10% to over $117,060 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire hr coordinators in Texas?
Employers hiring hr coordinators in Texas right now include University of North Texas, McDonald's, and UT Southwestern Medical Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's mix of large corporate headquarters, sprawling healthcare systems, and energy sector giants means hiring stays active across multiple industries year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most hr coordinator jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most hr coordinator openings in Texas. Houston's concentration of energy, healthcare, and logistics employers drives volume there, Dallas attracts corporate headquarters and financial services firms, and Austin's tech sector and rapid population growth have expanded HR teams across both established companies and newer employers.
Are there remote hr coordinator jobs in Texas?
Yes, though they represent a smaller share than fully desk-based analytical roles, since hr coordinator work often involves in-person onboarding, employee relations meetings, and I-9 verification. About 8% of hr coordinator openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with remote positions most common in HRIS administration and recruitment coordination functions that rely primarily on software and video calls.
How can I get hired as a hr coordinator in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an HR assistant or administrative coordinator role at a large Texas employer, which frequently transitions into full coordinator responsibilities. Healthcare systems including Baylor Scott and White Health and the University of Texas health institutions run structured HR rotational programs for new graduates. Starting in payroll processing or benefits administration at a staffing firm operating in Texas gives hands-on HRIS exposure that hiring managers value. Completing the SHRM-CP exam while in an assistant role accelerates the move to coordinator-level postings.
Where can I find and apply to hr coordinator jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to hr coordinator jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Texas locations. Search for roles that match your experience level and the industries you want to work in, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
