Marketing Associate Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing associate in Minnesota?
Most Minnesota employers require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field as the baseline credential for a marketing associate role. Marketing is not a state-licensed profession in Minnesota, so there is no board exam or registration required. Candidates who complete internships with Twin Cities companies, build a portfolio of campaign work, or earn certifications in Google Ads or HubSpot tend to move through hiring processes faster than those without demonstrated experience.
Which companies hire marketing associates in Minnesota?
Minnesota marketing associate roles are posted by Farm Bureau Financial Services, Polaris Industries, and Optum and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's dense cluster of Fortune 500 headquarters in the Twin Cities means a wide range of industries, from retail and healthcare to financial services and food manufacturing, are consistently active in this market.
Which Minnesota cities have the most marketing associate jobs?
Plymouth, Eden Prairie, and Edina account for the most marketing associate openings in Minnesota. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro dominates because it is home to a high concentration of corporate headquarters and regional offices across retail, healthcare, and finance, while Rochester's openings are closely tied to the healthcare and medical technology sector anchored by large institutional employers there.
Are there remote marketing associate jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 31% of marketing associate openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work, writing copy, managing campaigns, and analyzing performance data, can be done from any location. Roles focused on content strategy, email marketing, and paid digital advertising tend to be the most remote-friendly, while positions tied to events, trade shows, or on-site brand activations are more likely to require an office presence.
How can I get hired as a marketing associate in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a structured internship or rotational program at one of the Twin Cities' large employers, where Target, General Mills, and Optum regularly bring in new graduates and career changers for defined marketing roles. Entry-level coordinator positions in social media, email, or content often require only a degree and a portfolio of personal or class projects. Adjacent roles in sales support, customer success, or marketing operations can also serve as lateral entry points that lead to associate-level marketing positions within the same organization.
Where can I find and apply to marketing associate jobs in Minnesota?
