Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or public relations, followed by several years of progressively responsible experience. New Jersey's pharma and financial services sectors often favor candidates who also hold professional certifications such as the APR credential from the Public Relations Society of America, which has an active New Jersey chapter supporting local practitioners.
How much do marketing communications managers make in New Jersey?
Marketing communications managers in New Jersey earn a median of about $180,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $126,760 for the lowest 10% to over $298,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing communications managers in New Jersey?

Which New Jersey cities have the most marketing communications manager jobs?

Newark drives volume through its financial services and media companies, while Princeton and the surrounding Route 1 corridor reflect the dense cluster of pharmaceutical and biotech headquarters that rely heavily on corporate and product communications teams.
