Retail Success / Field Marketing Manager
Job Overview
We are seeking a data-driven Retail Success / Field Marketing Manager to own the post-sale success of ONYX and IVORY at retail.
Once a dispensary places an order, this person will work alongside the sales team to ensure products are properly launched, supported, selling through and ultimately reordered. This role is responsible for understanding what is happening inside assigned accounts, identifying problems and opportunities, taking action and measuring whether those actions improve retail performance.
This is a hands-on account management and field marketing position directly tied to product sell-through, retailer success and recurring sales.
Duties
- Manage the post-sale onboarding and ongoing success of assigned retail accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dispensary buyers, managers, owners and key store staff.
- Monitor product sell-through, inventory levels and reorder activity across assigned accounts.
- Identify underperforming stores, slow-moving SKUs and aging inventory before they become long-term problems.
- Develop and execute targeted action plans to improve retail performance.
- Monitor inventory regularly and conduct proactive outreach to retail partners.
- Visit stores based on account needs, performance trends and relationship-development opportunities.
- Monitor menu accuracy, product availability, pricing, merchandising and promotional execution.
- Provide budtender education and targeted staff training.
- Develop and manage SparkPlug incentives and other sell-through programs.
- Support retail promotions, marketing initiatives and new product launches.
- Gather retailer feedback, account insights and competitive market intelligence.
- Maintain accurate account notes, performance data and reporting.
- Work alongside sales to help assigned accounts successfully launch products, improve sell-through and reorder.
- Measure whether retail initiatives and account-level actions produced meaningful performance improvements.
Primary Performance Metrics
1. Sell-Through Velocity
The primary measure of performance will be whether ONYX and IVORY products are moving faster within assigned retail accounts.
During the first 30 days, the Retail Success / Field Marketing Manager will establish a performance baseline for assigned stores and priority SKUs. Performance will then be continually measured against that baseline.
The executive team will establish reasonable target percentage improvements in sell-through velocity based on available data, account type and product category.
2. Reorder Performance
This role will be responsible for increasing the percentage of assigned accounts that become repeat purchasers and reducing the amount of time between initial orders and inventory replenishment.
Performance will be evaluated based on whether accounts are reordering and how quickly they replenish inventory.
3. Aging Inventory Reduction
This role will identify slow-moving products early, determine why they are not selling and implement targeted solutions designed to improve velocity.
Performance will be measured by whether aging inventory is being identified and addressed before it becomes a long-term inventory problem.
Data, Tracking and Reporting
This role must be consistently informed by retail performance data. Pistil Analytics and SparkPlug will serve as primary tools for analyzing store and SKU performance.
During the first 30 days, the employee will establish baseline performance across assigned accounts to create a clear starting point for measuring improvement.
Ongoing responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing Pistil Analytics, SparkPlug and other available retail performance data.
- Tracking sell-through velocity by account and priority SKU.
- Identifying stores and products requiring immediate attention.
- Documenting the specific actions taken to improve performance.
- Tracking results against established baselines and KPI targets.
- Providing weekly reports covering key activity, account issues and immediate opportunities.
- Providing monthly reports showing changes in sell-through velocity, reorder performance and aging inventory.
- Clearly communicating what was happening within an account, what action was taken and whether that action worked.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in retail account management, field marketing, customer success, sales support or a related retail-facing role.
- Ability to build productive relationships with retail buyers, managers, owners and store-level staff.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate retail performance data into clear action plans.
- Experience monitoring inventory, product performance, sell-through or reorder activity.
- Ability to identify problems, take initiative and follow through until results can be measured.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple retail accounts, store visits, initiatives and reporting requirements.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working in a field-based role that requires regular retailer outreach and store visits.
- Ability to collaborate closely with sales while independently owning post-sale retail performance.
- Experience with Pistil Analytics, SparkPlug or similar retail analytics and incentive platforms is beneficial.
- Familiarity with dispensary operations, cannabis retail, merchandising, budtender education or regulated consumer products is highly desirable.
Join us if you are motivated by measurable results and excited by the opportunity to help ONYX and IVORY succeed at retail. This role offers direct ownership over account performance, retail relationships and the programs that turn initial orders into sustained sell-through and recurring sales.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Health insurance
- Paid time off

Field Marketing Associate Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field marketing associate in New Jersey?
Most field marketing associate roles in New Jersey require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, though no state-issued license is required for the role itself. New Jersey's dense concentration of pharmaceutical, consumer goods, and financial services employers means candidates with internship or co-op experience at regional companies have a clear advantage. Familiarity with CRM tools and a portfolio of campaign or activation work strengthens applications significantly.
Which companies hire field marketing associates in New Jersey?
Companies currently hiring field marketing associates in New Jersey include LADDS, Genmab, and Lyzr AI, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's pharmaceutical corridor and its cluster of consumer goods headquarters make it one of the more active states for field marketing roles tied to brand and territory work.
Which New Jersey cities have the most field marketing associate jobs?
Jersey City, New Jersey, and Linden have the most field marketing associate openings in New Jersey. Newark and Jersey City draw volume from financial services and media firms with Northeast regional offices, while Edison and Princeton sit at the center of New Jersey's pharmaceutical and consumer goods corridor, where large employers anchor consistent field marketing hiring.
Are there remote field marketing associate jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, but they're rare. Field marketing associates are fundamentally in-territory roles that involve in-person activations, retail visits, and event presence, so fully remote positions are uncommon by the nature of the work. About 67% of field marketing associate openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to cover planning, reporting, and campaign coordination duties rather than hands-on field execution.
How can I get hired as a field marketing associate in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a marketing coordinator or brand ambassador role at one of New Jersey's consumer goods or pharmaceutical companies, where structured rotational or associate programs exist at firms with large Parsippany, Bridgewater, or New Brunswick operations. A degree in marketing plus an internship or campus brand ambassador experience is the credential combination that opens most doors, and lateral moves from retail management or event coordination are common stepping stones at New Jersey employers.
