Sales Development Representative Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales development representative in New Jersey?
No state-issued license or certification is required to work as a sales development representative in New Jersey. Most employers look for a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications, though some hire candidates with relevant associate degrees or strong internship experience. Building proficiency with CRM tools and completing sales methodology training, such as courses offered through industry programs, strengthens a candidate's profile considerably for New Jersey's competitive market.
How much do sales development representatives make in New Jersey?
Sales development representatives in New Jersey earn a median of about $79,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $44,290 for the lowest 10% to over $167,430 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales development representatives in New Jersey?
Employers hiring sales development representatives in New Jersey right now include InBody, GoTrade, and Radware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters, financial services firms, and enterprise technology companies creates steady, recurring demand for SDR talent across industries.
Which New Jersey cities have the most sales development representative jobs?
New Jersey, Hoboken, and Jersey City have the most sales development representative openings in New Jersey. Newark and Jersey City drive volume through their dense financial services and tech sectors, while Princeton and its surrounding corridor attract consistent hiring from the pharmaceutical and biotech companies headquartered there, making those suburban hubs more active than their size alone would suggest.
Are there remote sales development representative jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 71% of sales development representative openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how naturally phone- and video-based outbound prospecting translates to off-site work. The portions of the role most commonly offered remotely are cold outreach, pipeline qualification, and CRM management, while team training and onboarding are more often held in person.
How can I get hired as a sales development representative in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to SDR associate or business development representative programs that large New Jersey employers run for candidates without prior sales experience. Companies in the Princeton pharmaceutical corridor and Newark's financial technology sector regularly onboard new graduates through structured cohort programs. Lateral moves from customer success, retail banking, or inside support roles are well-accepted, and completing a recognized CRM certification in Salesforce or HubSpot gives inexperienced candidates a concrete, demonstrable edge.
Where can I find and apply to sales development representative jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to sales development representative jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current New Jersey openings updated in real time. Find the roles that fit your experience and target employers, then apply directly through each listing without creating a profile or signing up.
