Marketing Manager Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing manager in Minnesota?
Marketing manager is not a licensed or state-regulated profession in Minnesota, so there is no state board or required credential. Most employers require a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field. From there, the typical path runs through coordinator or specialist roles at Minnesota companies, building campaign and team management experience before moving into a manager title. A professional certification such as a PCM from the American Marketing Association can strengthen a candidacy.
How much do marketing managers make in Minnesota?
Marketing managers in Minnesota earn a median of about $173,300 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $103,160 for the lowest 10% to over $303,350 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing managers in Minnesota?
Companies currently hiring marketing managers in Minnesota include Boston Scientific, maxtech, and The Estée Lauder Companies, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's deep concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, particularly in consumer goods, healthcare, and financial services, means large in-house marketing teams are common across the metro.
Which Minnesota cities have the most marketing manager jobs?
Minneapolis, Plymouth, and Saint Paul are the cities with the most marketing manager openings in Minnesota. Minneapolis drives the largest share of demand because it is home to major corporate headquarters across retail, food and beverage, and financial services, while Rochester's openings are largely tied to the healthcare and medical technology employers anchored by the Mayo Clinic ecosystem.
Are there remote marketing manager jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of marketing manager openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work is strategy, content, and campaign planning rather than on-site operations. The roles most consistently listed as fully remote tend to be in digital marketing, demand generation, and content strategy, where collaboration happens through shared platforms rather than physical presence.
How can I get hired as a marketing manager in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a marketing coordinator or specialist role at one of Minnesota's major consumer brands or healthcare systems, then building toward a manager title. Target, Best Buy, and UnitedHealth Group all run structured new-graduate programs that place candidates in rotational or junior marketing roles. Building a portfolio of campaign work through freelance projects or internships, and earning an American Marketing Association PCM certification, gives early-career candidates a measurable edge when applying to Minnesota employers.
Where can I find and apply to marketing manager jobs in Minnesota?
