Procurement Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a procurement in Florida?
Most procurement roles in Florida require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field. For public sector positions, the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials supports certifications like the NIGP-CPP and CPPB, which are widely recognized by Florida government agencies and municipalities. Private sector employers typically prioritize ERP system experience and a background in sourcing or contract administration alongside a relevant degree.
Which companies hire procurements in Florida?
Employers hiring procurements in Florida right now include Deloitte, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, and Augmentis, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's defense, healthcare, and construction industries create especially consistent demand, with large institutions maintaining ongoing procurement teams rather than hiring only for project-based needs.
Which Florida cities have the most procurement jobs?
Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami have the most procurement job openings in Florida. Miami drives volume through its concentration of international trade, logistics, and large corporate headquarters, while Orlando and Tampa support demand through major healthcare systems, defense contractors, and state and local government agencies headquartered across the I-4 corridor.
Are there remote procurement jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields, since procurement work is largely desk-based and contract-driven. About 29% of procurement openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the role's compatibility with digital sourcing platforms and virtual vendor management. Strategic sourcing, contract analyst, and purchasing coordinator roles are most commonly offered with remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a procurement in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through purchasing assistant or procurement coordinator roles, which Florida's healthcare systems, county governments, and defense contractors regularly post for candidates without deep experience. Large Florida employers like county school districts and hospital networks run structured onboarding for entry-level buyers. Earning the NIGP-CPP Foundation Certificate or completing an accredited supply chain program through a Florida university gives candidates a concrete edge when competing against other early-career applicants.
Where can I find and apply to procurement jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to procurement jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Florida employers. Search by city or specialty to narrow results to the roles that fit your background, then apply directly to the ones that match your experience and credentials.
