Regional Account Manager Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional account manager in Michigan?
Most regional account manager roles in Michigan require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, followed by experience in sales or client-facing roles within Michigan's dominant industries such as automotive, manufacturing, or healthcare. Michigan does not require a state-issued license specific to this role, but candidates targeting medical device or pharmaceutical accounts often pursue certifications through recognized industry bodies. Building familiarity with Michigan's key business regions and their industry mix strengthens a candidate's positioning significantly.
How much do regional account managers make in Michigan?
Regional account managers in Michigan earn a median of about $136,870 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,790 for the lowest 10% to over $230,070 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional account managers in Michigan?
Employers hiring regional account managers in Michigan right now include Neuronetics, Audacy, and Specialty Sales, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Michigan's depth in automotive supply chains, medical devices, and industrial distribution means regional account roles here often require sector-specific knowledge that established local employers prize highly.
Which Michigan cities have the most regional account manager jobs?
Detroit, Lansing, and Southfield have the most regional account manager openings in Michigan. Detroit drives the largest share of postings given its density of automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and corporate headquarters, while Grand Rapids draws openings from its strong medical device and consumer goods employers, and Lansing reflects demand from state government contractors and mid-market business services firms.
Are there remote regional account manager jobs in Michigan?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based roles because regional account management typically requires in-person client visits and territory coverage. About 33% of regional account manager openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the hands-on nature of the work. The tasks most amenable to remote work include pipeline reporting, internal strategy calls, and proposal preparation.
How can I get hired as a regional account manager in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in an inside sales, sales development, or account coordinator role at a Michigan employer in automotive, healthcare, or industrial distribution, then transitioning into a field-facing position once you have demonstrated client results. Large Michigan employers like Stryker and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan run structured new-graduate or associate sales programs that are specifically designed to develop candidates without prior territory experience. Earning a Certified Professional Sales Person credential or completing a Michigan university sales program can meaningfully strengthen an application.
Where can I find and apply to regional account manager jobs in Michigan?
You can find and apply to regional account manager jobs in Michigan on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state's major hiring metros and industries. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and target region, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
