West Virginia does not issue a state license specific to restaurant managers, but food safety certification through ServSafe or an equivalent program recognized by the West Virginia Department of Health is a standard requirement. Candidates typically advance from crew lead or shift supervisor roles within the same chain.
Which companies hire restaurant assistant managers in West Virginia?

Which West Virginia cities have the most restaurant assistant manager jobs?
Morgantown, Elkins, and Inwood account for the largest share of restaurant assistant manager openings in West Virginia. Charleston leads as the state capital and commercial hub, Huntington draws volume from Marshall University and regional medical traffic, and Morgantown's openings are fueled by West Virginia University's large student population and the dining demand that surrounds a major research campus.
Are there remote restaurant assistant manager jobs in West Virginia?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of restaurant assistant manager openings tied to West Virginia are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how hands-on the role is by nature. The portions of the job most suited to remote work are administrative tasks like scheduling, vendor ordering, and payroll review, which some multi-unit operators handle off-site.
